Dangers of Love

Part 16

Lena's POV

I heard Kara scream for me and I was about to get up until I was stabbed. In my left shoulder there was a huge blade. I can't move. Kara was worried enough. I wouldn't be shocked if she kills them right here and right now. It hurt to speak which is unusual. I saw my mother walk towards me and I panicked so I tried to kick her well I failed. She grabbed my ankle and twisted it. I rolled away from her. I did my best to sit up. My mother was looking at me. I moved back towards Alex and away from her. Alex tended to my wounds and I stayed behind them. Kara got my mother and put her in jail. Unfortunately we had to go on trial. I waited until I had to go to the stand. I was nervous to present my case.

Judge: Lena Luthor is there any proof that your mother had kidnapped you.
Lena: Y-yes your honor. While I was there I was in a jail cell. Supergirl made a deal to give my mother the smartest scientist she knows for my return. During that deal everything went south. I was stabbed in my shoulder and my mother had twisted my ankle in my attempt to escape.
Judge: Lillian you do realize you are being charged with kidnapping and attempt of murder right?
Lillian: oh but of course. My daughter is the one person who gets in the way of my goals. Without her my goals would've been completed long ago.
Judge: So what you're saying is that she was a pest to you and you wanted to rid of her?
Lillian: Correct.
Lena: I'm not surprised you never cared for anyone but yourself and Lex!
Supergirl: Ms. Luthor please calm down. She will get what she deserves.
Judge: Lena since Supergirl is acting like she can determine what fate your mother gets. Can you tell us who she really is.
Lena: No.
Judge: Do you know or are you refusing to say.
Lena: What I am doing is called pleading the fifth.
Judge: Very we'll. Lillian Luthor you have been sentenced to life in prison for various crimes and attempt of life on your own daughter.
Lillian: Very well but this isn't the last of me Lena.

With that the trial was over. She was guilty and off to jail. I should be happy but I can't help but feel like I betrayed her. Supergirl was thrilled but I can't say the same. I left the court room and took a cab to my place. I couldn't think about anything. I just knew I needed a drink. I got several phone calls and I answered none of them. Kara was worried about me but she couldn't help the way I feel. I was to tired to even think about anything. I drank scotch and stayed up doing paperwork. It was 3 AM and there was a knock on my door. I grabbed a knife from the kitchen and looked through the peep hole. It was Maggie, Alex, and Kara. I opened the door and they came running to hug me. I was utterly confused on why they were all here. Kara was crying and Alex had a worried look on her face. I waved her over and Maggie comforted Kara.
Lena: What the heck is wrong with her?
Alex: S-she ummm
Lena: Alex what's wrong?
Alex: She killed Lillian. In her cell. There were no witnesses but I'm afraid people will try to target you, her, and all of us.
Lena: Y-your joking right?! She killed my mother?! Look I don't blame her but she's screwed.
Alex: Winn is hacking the cameras and erasing the footage of Kara.
Lena: I need to sit down. Hand me my glass and the scotch.
Alex: Lena...you can't drink right now we need to get you and Kara away from here.

I was about to reply until I heard gun shots. Maggie yelled that we needed to leave. Kara why couldn't you wait. I would've helped you. God I'm so dead.

Alex's POV
Kara has called me saying she killed Lillian. She was in a panic so I called Maggie and we headed to Lena's. She was drinking a lot. We needed her to get sober but we didn't have enough time. I explained what had happened and then we needed to leave. We all headed to the DEO. J'onn was in panic and Winn was still hacking the cameras. Kara was pleading with J'onn not to do something. J'onn was going to turn her in. I couldn't let him do that. Not to my sister who has constantly fought for this world. I stood in between them. Kara was nervous on what could happen. Lena was holding Kara close while Maggie was ready for a fight.
J'onn: Alex move. Kara killed a citizen.
Alex: oh and you wouldn't if that person constantly hurt and put someone you love near death?! Of course you would! You will not be taking Kara in. I don't care what you say or do. This is not a world affair this is a family affair!
J'onn: Alex...I have to. She didn't follow the rules.
Alex: If this is how it's going to be then so be it. She is NOT a criminal and she won't be treated as such. I now know exactly what Lena felt when we all denied her for being good! Kara is the best thing that has ever happened to me. If you get rid of her you get rid of me.
J'onn: I can't disobey the President.
Alex: That depends. If you truly cared you would fight for us!
Lena: J'onn you will not win this argument. Kara has only done the things she's done to protect others. My mother would've hurt innocent lives and for what? To teach me a lesson. Sure this may be my fault but her actions are not our fault. Kara shouldn't take the blame for something someone else started.
Winn: J'onn I'm not brining her in. None of us are.
Alex: Wait we know J'onn would never. Who are you and what have you done!?
