Dangers of Love

Part 18

Alex's POV
I was worried about Kara but then the real J'onn said that we had to take her in. He's my boss but she's my sister. I'm going along with his plan but sadly I have to betray him. I'm waiting for the perfect moment to strike. It was hard to find and opening until he was down. I shot him with my pistole and walked in front of Kara.

Alex: J'onn you really thought I was going to let you hurt Kara or Lena. Kara is my sister and Lena is family. You won't get to hurt either of them.
J'onn: You were lying to me. How did you manage to keep your thoughts hidden.
Alex: J'onn this is between family and enemies. They are my family and I thought you were until now.
J'onn: So you aren't apart of the DEO?
Alex: Not if it means my family gets hurt. This is a no brainer. My family always comes first especially if their life is at risk. What happened to you? You used to care about what happens to us. Now you could care less if Kara or I got hurt.
J'onn: That's not true! I care a lot about you two. She is the problem. She is causing so much harm.
Lena: J'onn I'm not a parasite. I'm a-
J'onn: A what? A nuisance is what you are. Do you actually care for Kara or is this just part of some facade.
Lena: Of course I do! If I didn't I wouldn't be here. What do you take me for a joke?!
J'onn: No Lena I take you as a Luthor. Which is what you are.
Kara: That is enough! You do not speak to her like that. You don't hurt anyone especially if you think they classify as family!
Alex: J'onn we are leaving and you are going to relax. I don't know what has happened to you but you are out of line. Goodbye.

Kara's POV
I hoped that Lena didn't take anything J'onn said to heart but of course she did. She took the Luthor approach and I'm sure she'll close up her walls. She's been so good at opening up to us and all her progress gets smashed to nothing. I know somethings off but it's so hard to read her. I left her alone for a while but after an hour or two I needed to step in. She's been alone with her thoughts for to long. I was with Alex and I rushed to her. Who knows what she is up to. She could be drinking. When I got there all the lights were off. Which was weird because she had at least the light in the kitchen on. I walked around calling her name and no answer. I looked in all the rooms and all the bathrooms. She wasn't here, could she be at her apartment? We left there because J'onn attacked her. I flew over and entered and checked every room. No one was home. I even checked closets in case she was hiding in there. I chanced calling her. She picked up and it was her.

Kara: Lena where are you. If you are at a bar tell me which one and I'll come to keep you company.
Lena: I'm not at a bar...I'm with Sam and Ruby.
Kara: Do you want me to come over?
Lena: Sure.

I trusted Lena but I was to worried to know if she was really there so I called Sam. She picked up.

Kara: Sam hey! Look I trust Lena a lot but J'onn attacked her so I'm just checking. Is she with you? She said she was with you and Ruby.
Sam: Kara don't worry. Yes she's with me and Ruby. I'm assuming you're coming over?
Kara: Yes...I hate to suffocate Lena with my constant presence but even J'onn attacked her.
Sam: Understandable. If you want to have extra security knock on my front door three times.
Kara: Will do. Thanks.

I hung up and landed at Sam's house. I knocked three times and she opened the door. I walked in and saw Lena on the couch. She looked awfully pale. Paler than usual. We started chatting and she fell asleep on my lap. When we get back to my place I hope to have a decent conversation about J'onn's rude words towards her.
