Five Years Later
Bucky, Sam, Storm, and Logan had been locked up. After retrieving the stones Magneto took them and traveled to another time. Though none of them were ever aware of where they were, because once they arrived in some building, Magneto had them locked away. It seemed that wherever and whenever they were, Magneto knew these people. Over the past five years Magneto worked to understand and know how to control the stones. All while the four captives were fed and given water, but never the light of day. Until one morning when they were pulled from their cells and lead through dark hallways by Magneto's minions. "Buck?" Sam spoke, his voice raspy and low. Before Bucky had the chance to reply they were quieted. Light began to filter at the end of the long hallway, the first to recognize the location was Logan, it was the same building they had left from. Though the time was still a mystery to them. Lead into the room they all looked around, finding people all working in the room on various things from computers to weapons. It may have been the same building, but it looked very different now. With their hands bound behind them they were pushed down to their knees. A large man walked up to them, one recognizable as Sabretooth. The mutants yellow grin and beady eyes looked at each one of them, "Weak," he laughed.
"Of course they are," another man, Avalanche, walked over, "they've been locked away for five years."
Five years. Sam wondered how long that was in their time. Would they be gone for five seconds? Five days, weeks? The two mutants grumbled between themselves for a moment, Logan clicked his tonged for them to look his way and he moved his eyes to lock on a travel pad, Sam nodded. The odds of everyone in the room being mutant was low, as it seemed they were working as slaves, and Magneto wouldn't use mutants as slaves. Sam looked over at the two, "Where's the big man?"
Slowly Sabretooth and Avalanche turned their heads and stared at him, "What?" Avalanche began to walk over toward Sam.
"Big man? Sidekick chick? You can't tell me you're the one running the show." Sam smiled, teasing at them. While the attention was locked on Sam, Storm looked up at the high glass ceiling, her eyes fogging over as storm clouds pooled into a circle in the sky. "I mean, I guess two of you together make one functioning brain."
"I'd have to disagree." Bucky added, looking over at Sam and shrugging, "Maybe half a working brain. Can't say I've ever seen a dog smart enough." Sabretooth growled at Bucky. Suddenly lightening struck the roof and the power went out. In the shuffle Bucky and Logan busted through their restraints, Storm held her arms back for Logan to bust through hers, and Sam stood up to jump and kick out at Avalanche who had been directly in front of him. "SAM!" Bucky called out. The lights flickered back on and Bucky began to fight off Sabretooth, while Storm ran over to work on the time pad coordinates. Logan fought off the few minions that ran at them, but as Storm got everything working she got onto the pad and called out to them. Logan finished off the last guy and ran toward her, but looked back to see Bucky and Sam still fighting off the two mutants.
"Come on! There's a timer!" Storm called out, Logan shook his head and grunted, running toward Bucky to help get Avalanche to the floor. With both their strength they were able to beat the mutant and he fell to the ground, either too tired to continue or passed out completely. Logan and Bucky started toward the pad, but Bucky stopped and turned to see Sam working against Sabretooth.
"SAM!" Bucky called out. Sam punched the mutant in the face and as he staggered, began to run toward them. Once Sam was making his way Bucky turned around and got onto the pad. It was went the monitor began to beep that Bucky looked up and reached out his arm for Sam to grab. Just as their hands linked, Sabretooth lunged for Sam's legs. "NO!"
