"if you aren't over her than i don't want to be a rebound ant. i really care about you and i want a real relationship, so if you aren't ready then tell me," i explain to him.

he takes a step forward and grabs my hands. i look up at him, scared to hear his response but curious more than anything.

"i want to be with you so much and i'm ready, i'm all i'm okay ? jus me and you baby," he smiles at me.

he pulls me in for a tight embrace. i've never felt so safe and secure.

"should we begin?" my attorney asks, snapping me out of my daydream with a sad smile.

"uhm yeah, right sorry," i nod.

"let's start from the beginning of the bad times," she suggests while squeezing my hand across the table.

i take in a deep breathe and begin:

"we kind of started off pretty okay. he had just gotten out of a relationship that was very serious but he said he was ready. for awhile things were goof but he was never really active int he relationship if that makes sense," i tell her with a weak smile.

"after making content, usually with friends, he cane home late and seemingly tired. i always waited up and wanted to know about his days and such because he said he liked to know i cared, but that wasn't always true," i explain.

"how was your day love? " i excitedly asked anthony while laying next to him.

"fine," he simply answered.

"just fine? what about hanging out with griff and them?" i questioned.

"why do you care?" he asked, getting defensive.

"i've been asking about your day everyday for a year now. we always talk and then get some sleep. why'd tonight nay different?"

"no you're being fucking weirdo i said fine and you can just accept that all of the sudden, YOU are being weird."

"woah what it your problem? "

"you! jesus you just don't stop. anthony this, anthony that, just stop. you're clingy, annoying, and frankly you sound stupid," he boomed.

there was a long pause before i sat up and pushed back the sadness.

"i didn't realize-"

"just be quiet and go somewhere else."

"there were these random arguments that would happen here and there, mainly on nights he'd cheat i later found. i stayed though since it wasn't everyday. he proposed on one of the good days and i thought that this would mean the end of it. so we got married quickly and he made it a huge deal on every media platform possible, mainly to show his ex who had also gotten married right after."

i walked hand in hand with anthony through the park after our date. he had taken me out all day and spoiled me like crazy. we stopped at a bridge and looked over the railing at the water underneath.

"i know i can be dick but i don't mean it mamas, i promise. i just get frustrated and take it out on you but i love you. i love your smile and your laugh and just hearing you talk to me," he smiled down at me.

i forced a smile at him and nodded.

"it's just some mistakes right," i thought aloud.

"of course baby, i love you so so much and you're the one i want to be with for forever," he told me.

he proceeded to get down on one knee and propose.

"how did you find out he cheated? " my attorney questioned.

"sorry, i just keep thinking," i apologize.

"it's okay to want to remember the good but right now i need everything i can get sweetie," she sadly smiles.

i nod and think back.

"we bought a house. it was small and old but perfect for a starter home and reasonably priced," i tell her.

"you sure you want this one ? it needs work, a lot of it," anthony questioner after our tour.

"it's perfect ant! it's small and far away from the city and we can fix it up together!" i excitedly tell him.

"then let's put in an offer mamas," he smiled.

"we got the house and went over and fixed big stuff. finally it was time to paint. i suggested we do it ourselves just like my grandparents. that's when i found out."

"i don't like the way you were talking to that paint guy" he sighed while covering the bedroom wall gray.

"i was simply getting paint for OUR house where we, a married couple live," i defend.

"so you didn't touch all over him?" he huffs.

"no i didn't. i slipped and grabbed his arms to stop myself from falling ant," i explained, painting more aggressively.

"it's fine really, i know i wasn't the only one to cheat now," he shrugged.

i stopped painting and looked at him before speaking,"you were if you did."

"yeah right."

"i've never cheated on you! yet you cheated on me?"

"i figured you knew but yeah, a few times,"  he shrugged as if it were nothing.

"he accused me of cheating and then told me that he was glad he wasn't the only one," i tell her while looking down.

"where'd you find this guy?" she asks.

"young people fall in love with the wrong people sometimes," i shrug.

"i think we should talk more tomorrow, today was a lot but we got a lot of what we needed for you to get what you deserve form the divorce."

we exchanged our goodbyes and i drove to my moms. we greeted each other and went to the kitchen. she chopped vegetables as i sat on the stool in front of the island counter.

"i met with the lawyer today," i tell her while eating a grape.

"how did that go sweetheart ?"  she asks with a sad look.

"good, we got a lot that we needed but there's so much that it's hard to talk about. we covered the cheating but not the abuse yet," i explain.

"jesus where'd you find this guy?"

"some people fall in love with the wrong people sometimes," i shrug.

"i think you'll be okay after a bit. i mean some mistakes get made but that's alright, that's okay. you can think that you're in love when you're really just in pain. just know that in the end it's better for you, that's the moral of the story love bug."

"you're right mom, i do know that, it's just hard."

"things will get better, sooner than you think," shes smiles while grabbing my hand.
