summery~ you have met the boys many times before. not on purpose though, you weren't really a fan but you guys always seemed to cross paths. you see them once again at the airport and this time daniel notices something different about you.

i was currently standing at the baggage claim as i waited for my suitcase to come around. i had just come back from my home town where i flew back to grieve with my family the loss of both of my parents. i lived in LA and i was only at home for about a week when i knew that being around so many things that reminded me of my parents would be hard so i flew back to LA.

y/n stop following us corbyn exlaims as they all walk up to me all of their luggage in hand

what are you doing here? zach asks in between taking selfies with fans

i just visited my family for about a week i say smiling lightly as i pull my hood off my head to look more inviting

they all just nod as they get caught up talking to fans which i understand and am thankful that i don't have to talk to them as much. as i reach for my bag another hand goes out to grab it beating me to it

i turn to see the bright blue eyes i never get tired of as well as a toothy grin

hey daniel i say smiling as he places my bag on the ground but not letting the handle go

hey do you wanna go talk for a second? he says rolling my bag in one hand and slinging his other arm around my shoulders. fans following us taking pictures screaming wondering who i was. daniel politely asks them to give us a minute which they listen at first but all their eyes were still definitely on me.

is everything okay? he asks which surprises me. the boys and i had a fun relationship always laughing and acknowledging each other when we cross paths. but i would never have considered us friends but i should have known daniel of all people would check up on me.

you just look like the life got drained out of you he answers but his eyes go wide once he realizes what he said

i-i mean you look good i- you just look like you haven't slept he says stumbling over his words

i laugh a little which causes a wave if release to wash over his face.

just family problems but nothing i can't handle i say smiling to reassure him.

i suddenly feel tears building up in my eyes as i see how concerned daniel was never taking his eyes off me. i didn't have a ton of friends not in LA and especially not in STL to see someone even remotely worried for my well being especially while i am in such a vulnerable state just pushed me a little over edge

daniel we need to go to the gate! jonah yells over at us

okay bye daniel i say trying to walk away from him

y/n y/n y/n daniel says as he rushed behind me not letting me get very far.

he catches up to me grabbing my arm swinging me around

hey hey what's wrong? he says cupping my cheeks as he wipes the slight tears falling with the pads of his thumb

daniel you need to go i say turning my head to the side so i don't have to meet his sad eyes which i know would hurt to see

he gently grabs my chin causing me to look in his eyes. as if i read his mind i finally gave in

my parents died a couple weeks ago i say softly... i was um- home to be there for their funereal i say avoiding eye contact

daniel doesn't say anything he just pulls me into his embrace

we just stand there rocking back and forth as my sobs begin to increase. daniels hands softy rubbing my back as his hoodie muffles my sobs

danie- what's wrong? jack says confused but daniel just softly shakes his head.

we need to get going really soon jack says softly taking the hint as he walks off

i can hear all the girls that were watching us whispering and snickering and i just know i was going to see pictures of us in this very moment all over social media soon.

daniels head softly lifts off mine and he softly backs up just a little so he could look me in the eye but still hold me

i- he starts but i cut him off

i know it's okay i say laughing a little

here, wear these as you walk out so no one can say you where crying he says handing me his pair of sunglasses

it feels like the world just wants you to be in me and the guys lives he says laughing softly

daniel softly grabs my phone from my hand pointing it towards me as my face unlocks it

my number love... text me when you get home so i can check up on you he says smiling as he placing a kiss on my temple pulling me into a final hug

okay okay text me when you get home okay? im serious he says before i walk to the exit of the airport waving to the rest of the band as i past them.

- a week later-

me and daniel had been talking almost everyday since we had that encounter in the airport. we would call, FaceTime, text, snapchat anything

daniel: hey me and the boys are home for the next two weeks, we should meet up sometime soon.

i feel myself getting excited finally maybe having a friend out here. especially one as sweet as daniel. we didn't know each other personally but that day at the air port felt like we had been friends for years and it was the first time someone had asked me if i was okay in a long time. we had an immediate connection and now after talking to him more and more i can't help but wonder if it would ever be anything more.

me: yeah sure, what day works with you?

daniel: any day the sooner the better:)

we decided that we would meet up on Wednesday which was only one day away.

-one year later-

it was late at night and i was laying in bed my body cuddled up next to Daniels as i traced circles on his bare chest.

i can't believe tomorrow is the one year anniversary of when i held you balling in the airport

i was not balling i say as i slap him softly

haha okay babe whatever he says pulling me closer to him.

i can't believe we did that in front of everyone we didn't even know each other i say laughing

i guess but... i don't know it's weird it didn't feel like that though he says softly

and then not even two weeks later you asked me to be your girlfriend i say causing us both to laugh daniel blushing a little

oh my god seavey who are you? i say giggling at the cheesy romantic he was becoming

DO YOU NOT LOVE ME BACK he yells like an upset child while i could not stop laughing

CORBYN daniel yells as the blonde walks past his room

what? he asks startled

corbyns face goes into an over dramatic face as his mouth turns into the shape of an O as he plays along hoping daniel will leave him alone
