Chapter 9

Nathan's POV

"You know, we don't have to stay home" Jay said as we got inside our house.

"Touché" I say. "So what we gonna do?"

Jay smirk and raised his eyebrow.

"Let's have some fun outside"

Jay is absolutely crazy! He's mad!

I can't believe he's actually gonna do this. Well its Jay, not really a surprise.

He made me walk all the way to the side of the freeway. To do what you asked? Graffiti. Jay loves graffiti's. Can't believe he's actually gonna do it.

"Alright mate" Jay said as he shake the spray can. "What should we do on this freeway wall?"

I shook my head.

"We could get caught Jay!"

"Don't be such a pussy Nath"

He tossed me a spray can.

"Here do something."

"What am I suppose to do? Draw cats?" I said sarcastically.

Jay nodded.

"Whatever. Just vandalize this wall"

Jay started to spray. I can't really see what he's doing. It's really dark. It's about 9:30. I just stood back and watch him break the law.

After he was done. He got a flashlight from the bag full of cans. He then light the wall.

He sprayed two dates on the wall. But more graffiti like.

"Whats that?" I asked.

"This" He pointed at the date : 16/5/09 (May 16, 2009)

"is when we all met" he said with a cheesy smile.

"And this," he pointed at the second date: 13/7/11 (July 13, 2011)

"Is when me and you started to become best buds"

He looked at me and grin.

"That's really nice Jay" I said. I'm blushing. I gave Jay big bear hug. Surprisingly, he gave me one back.

"You mean a lot to me Nath" He said beside my ear. It made me kind of shiver. Being in his arms felt really nice...

He pulled away and look at me with a straight face.

"I gotta tell you something Nath" he said.

"Yeah?"

"It's hard for me to say this. I don't want to ruin this"

"What are you talking about?"

Jay sighed.

"Just promise me you'll still be my friend." He mumbled.

"I promise"

I don't know what's going on. Is he a killer?! What? No, Nath. You're exaggerating. Maybe its nothing. Hopefully.

Jay just stood there looking at me; not saying a word.

"I love you Nathan"

And that's when it hit me.

Jay's POV

"I love you Nathan"

There, I said it. I finally said how I truly feel about Nathan.

I didn't think I could do it but I did. It felt real good too. But Nathan's face didn't look too well. I knew I shouldn't have blow it on his face. I just couldn't take it any longer. I need to let him know how I feel before its too late. Before he already found someone else.

We stood here in this awkward situation.

"You what?" he mumbled. He's looking through my eyes to see if I'm lying. I took a step closer, almost my face close to his, I look straight into his eyes to show him that I'm dead serious about this.

"I love you Nath. You don't even know how I much do. You don't even know how long I felt about this. You don't even know how many times I wanna tell you this. I love you and-"

"Stop" he interrupted me and slowly pushing me away.

He looked down at the ground like if he's lost.

"I can't believe what I'm hearing" he mumbled. He started to pace.

"Nath?" I sad softy. I'm scared. What if I ruined our friendship forever? I can't lose him in my life. I need him.

"I'm sorry" I really don't know what I'm sorry for. Nathan just looks upset.

"No bird" Nathan spoke. He stopped pacing and turned to me.

"This can't be happening. You're one of my best buds! You can't be-"

he stopped.

I sighed. That word is getting on my nerves lately.

"Gay" he finished.

"Is that a bad thing Nath?" I hope he doesn't think that. I hope he won't think of me different. I'm still the same. Just have strong feelings for a boy.

Nathan shook his head.

"No, I just thought..women is what you fancy"

"I thought so too" I replied. My voice is getting shaky. Not sure because it's cold or because I'm scared about what I'm gonna say.

"But, I always loved you Nathan" I croaked.

"I don't know what to say to that"

I wouldn't blame him. It's really unexpected. Especially since its me that I'm saying it.

"Just tell me one thing Nathan. Do you still have feelings for her?"

Nathan was shocked at what I just asked.

"Wait, what?"

"Just tell me Nath!"

"A little"

I nodded. Of course. She was his first love.

"I'll change that"

"Jay-"

"I won't hurt you like how she did-"

"But Jay-"

"I promise you. I'll treat you like how you should be treated"

"Jay look-"

"I'll love you more than you'll ever know-"

"Just let me love you-"
