The whole dinner we talked about our lives, I told Ruel a little bit more about my past relationship with Tyler. I told him how we met, what he had done during our relationship and more about what had exactly led up to Tyler being this psycho. I also told him about my parents and their divorce. He talked to me about his sisters, I already knew Coco but he told me about Sylvie. They all seemed really close and it made me happy, Jacob and I are very close even though we do not get to see each other that much.
Dinner was great, I had vegetable pasta and Ruel had a burger. Once dinner had finished Ruel insisted on paying which although I tried my best to at least pay half he would not budge, he is extremely stubborn but it's cute.
"You ready to go beautiful?" he said to me whilst downing the rest of his water
"Yep I'm ready!" I said back blushing, I mean he called me beautiful!
"Ok lets go" He said holding out his hand which I of course took
We both walked out of the restaurant thanking the staff on the way out, the only thing I was thinking about was how badly I liked this kid. He is just so sweet.
"Do you want to go for a walk to the water?"
"Yea that would be nice" I replied
Ruels pov
Ok its now or never, I have about 10 minutes to prepare my speech to ask Laiya to be my girlfriend. Maybe I should've prepared earlier. RUEL SHUT THE FUCK UP you will be fine. I thought to myself.
Once we had reached the waters edge Laiya sat down on a bench I then followed her and sat down next to her, she rested her head on my chest and I wrapped my arms around her. She looked up at me and smiled, I placed a kiss on her forehead. This was the right time to ask and I knew it.
"What are you looking at?" I asked her
"The view" she said nuzzling her head into my chest
"Yea the view is amazing and I'm not talking about the water" I said laughing
"Very smooth" she giggled "This has been the craziest few days" she said still looking at the water
"Yea it has, It's also been some of the best few days, because i've been with you" she giggled at my response
"It really has been the best few days" she said turning her head to look at me
"I really like you Laiya" I said holding her hands
"I really like you too Ruel" She said
"Honestly these have been the best few days, you make me feel so normal and special. My parents and sisters already really like you and my mum especially was really strict around girls but I can tell she trusts you. She would never let me stay at a boys house if she knew a girl would be there though I never really do that anyway but when I asked her she was totally fine with it. Sylvie and my dad love you even though they haven't met you but I know they really want to. Oh and Coco she loves you and talks about you more than I do... well nearly. Though that is besides the point, Laiya I really like you and wanted to know if you would be my girlfriend?" I said looking at her
She was silent for a bit which made me shit myself
"Uhh it's totally fine if you don't want to" I said quietly
She gently grabbed my face and pulled me into a kiss, a deep passionate kiss. It took me a second to realize what was happening but I immediately kissed back once I had realized. A few seconds after she pulled away.
"Ruel I would love to be your girlfriend" she chuckled
I smiled and pulled her into another kiss
We decided to take an instagram picture though we weren't going to announce us getting together since Nate probably wouldn't like that. We will see how everything goes.
