Wei Wuxian's profound slumber was interrupted by blare noises traveling from outside the house. He grunted in his sleep whilst his body turned over to face the other side. As the noise got even louder and more irritating for his feeble eardrums, Wei Wuxian's eyes flickered.
He stretched his arms to the sides and yawned with content.
The weary body lazily heaved from the soft mattress and Wei Ying sat down. He studied the living room as faint sun rays shimmered through the window's curtains.
What is that creepy painting doing in my room? He wondered, rubbing the inner corner of his eyes with his fingers.
Suddenly, Wei Wuxian's eyes shot wide open as he yelped, "What the fuck?!" He rose from the couch and looked around the room, quite bewildered.
"Lan Wangji!" Wei Ying shouted. His bellowing voice echoed in the empty house whilst the rash decision followed a stimulus on his temples, making the detective's face creased with pain.
"Ah! That piece of shit," he furiously murmured before he brisk walked to the entrance door and opened it. The blinding morning sun welcomed Wei Wuxian as soon as the doors have been opened and the loud fuzzing sound ringed from the other courtyard.
"Good morning," a monotone voice spoke.
Wei Ying turned in the direction of the voice and he warmly smiled, "Good day, mister."
Before Wei Wuxian could say anything else, the man who was mowing his lawn, inquired, "This is a crime scene, you aren't supposed to be there. Who are you?"
"Please, do not worry, I am a detective." Wei Ying reasoned with an awkward smile plastered on his face.
"Detective?" The man asked with a scowling facial expression.
Wei Wuxian abruptly moved his jacket to the side and revealed his badge, which safely tugged on his belt.
"Detective Wei Wuxian. So please, don't think I am robbing the house." He nervously laughed whilst his hand traveled to his nape and he rubbed it.
The man faintly nodded and turned away so he could continue with his morning chores. Wei Wuxian let out a relieved sigh before muttering, "I'll fucking kill you, Lan Wangji."
Just as the clock hit past lunchtime, Wei Wuxian stormed inside his unit's department. The small branch was packed with bustling individuals trying to solve crime doers cases. The aromatic coffee scent enveloped the air which was a significant symbol of a hustling life choice - Investigation.
After giving his greetings to some of his coworkers, Wei Wuxian kept walking straight to his main goal - Director's office.
I am disowning you, Lan Wangji, Wei Wuxian internally cursed as he passed by Jiang Cheng's office, meanwhile, the latter's door was ajar.
