Wei Wuxian choked and glanced at Lan Wangji, who stood behind him, the latter's arms wrapped around Wei Ying's upper body, "Blood? I can't smell anything."
Lan Wangji lightly nodded, "It's faint, but it's there,"
"There was no blood the last time we have been here," uttered Wei Wuxian, contemplating if he missed anything.
"Mm..." hummed Lan Wangji.
"Uh... Lan Wangji, I am fine, you can let go of me," spoke Wei Ying, uncomfortable in the situation he was put in.
Lan Wangji swiftly unwrapped his arms from Wei Wuxian and he murmured, "Sorry."
The moment Wei Wuxian was set free, he swiped over his shoulders as if wiping the dust from himself. He turned to face Lan Zhan and he spoke, "Go check the upper floor, meanwhile, I'll inspect the paintings in the living room," he demanded.
As Lan Zhan left the room and vanished behind the walls, Wei Wuxian got back to work. He swiftly walked into the living room, where the paintings were vertically placed so he did what he usually used to do. He removed them from the walls one by one and scrupulously inspected the artistry.
A few hours passed of Wei Wuxian trying to understand the symbols on the paintings as he tried to find any given information on the internet. He tried all the ancient words for pentagrams, greek words, and whatever he could put his mind to.
No luck.
It's as if the symbols meant nothing and they were put on the walls for admiration purposes, indicating Wei Wuxian that the woman had some weird taste in art.
However, as Wei Wuxian was so preoccupied with analyzing the artistry, he didn't notice the time and that Lan Wangji was already done with his part of the investigation, the latter quietly standing in the corner of the room, as if a shadow lingering in the dark, peeping at its prey.
Wei Wuxian was sitting on the ground with his legs crossed with one another when he leaped to his feet. The moment he turned around to put the painting back from where he took it, the latter yelped.
"Holy cow you scared me!" He screamed when he noticed a pair of black, piercing eyes staring straight at him.
Lan Wangji crooked from the corner and walked closer to Wei Wuxian, "No disturbance when working," retorted Lan Zhan.
"At least say something the next time! I've almost got a heart attack," Wei Wuxian whined before placing the painting back on the wall.
The next second, Wei Wuxian turned around and inquired, "Did you find anything upstairs?"
Lan Wangji shook his head.
"By any chance, did you find a phone?"
Lan Wangji focused his attention on Wei Wuxian and tilted his head to a side, "Phone?"
