Let me tell you a story.
This is a story about a little girl who grew up alone. Completely, and utterly alone. There was no one to wipe the tears off her face when she had been crying, no one to hold her after she had woken up sweating and shaking from a nightmare. There was no one there then, and there never would be. See, whoever had a hand in shaping that little girls destiny decided to play a game. They had decided to curse her so that no one would ever be there, and if someone was there, if someone ever began to care, they would die.
She was ten when she learned of it. Her curse was designed specifically for her. To love and never be loved. The girl grew up in foster homes and orphanages where no one ever noticed her unless it was to belittle or scold. But at school, school was different. She was what was classified as a genius, having graduated high school at eight years old. Her teachers noticed her and they sung praises for her, but they didn't care. The kids were still the same, constantly teasing her. None of them liked the fact a eight year old was smarter than them. The thing is she had a secret, something other that her curse.
When she was seven, she found a hunk of metal in the backyard of the foster home she was currently staying at. The hunk of metal appeared to be completely normal as most things tended to appear. On further inspection by the clever little girl it seemed the hunk of metal wasn't just metal. It seemed to look, and work like an engine. An engine for what she didn't know but she was determined to find out.
Fast forward three years, the clever girl had built a ship. A spaceship to be exact. The engine she had found turned out to be a part from the apparently real UFO that had crashed three years ago. But now she had the part and a very real spaceship, and she was itching to leave. So that's exactly what she did. She disappeared off the face of the earth and slipped into the universe.
She spent the next five years searching for someone out there who could cure her curse. That's when she began to hear the rumors. There was a man, well actually no one knew what he was, called the King of Legends who could supposedly cure anything and everything. So she decided to try an contact him, only to be told that he couldn't cure her. There was no possible way. So she never went to truly find him. The truth about that man however, was something she would have to wait for.
By the time she had truly, completely, gotten over the fact that there was no cure, another five years had passed. She was now twenty and celebrating another birthday alone, and as luck seemed to have it, unbeknownst to her, very low on fuel. Which would result in her making a emergency landing on the nearest planet. The planet happened to be called Utalmite which was home to one of the most dangerous species in the entire universe. It was only one thankfully, but it didn't stop them from kidnapping her and attempting to eat her.
She escaped after being held for what later turned out to be just a few hours. Just enough time for her ship to refuel. Thank the world for artificial intelligence and her crew. Over the ten years she had been in space she had built three robotic crew members to help with repairs and such. She debated on naming them only to decide too. Their names were, Cyrus, Lizzie, and Trish. Picked at random, for no reason than because she didn't have any ideas.
After a few more years something changed. The man who claimed to be able to heal anything contacted her. He had lied. He could heal her but now it didn't matter. It didn't matter to her for one reason. She was dying. She was dying because unbeknownst to her, the King of Legends cared, and now he decided to save her. The girl who no one cared for was going to be saved. All because a stranger cared.
