A fight that has gone on too long
Because neither would admit they're wrong
An embarrassing secret that would kill the other,
Especially if told to mother.
A whisper here
A whisper there
It's like this disease is part of the air.
And just as the other had feared
All of their classmates laughed and jeered.
The once sweet and caring friend
Had turned against them,
There was no end.
Hiding and hiding
Spiraling deeper down
Our poor young child
Cannot be found.
Their parents are confused
Their child won't talk
And sometimes won't get up to walk.
Their passion was gone
And so was that light
That used to shine so bright at night.
They went to school and came straight home
Into a room that was more of a tomb
Gone was the bright and cheerful child they knew
And they constantly asked "who did this to you?"
The other from the fight
Who seemed to glow with light
Was oblivious to their former friend's strife.
And they wasted away day by day
Trying to forgive and forget
A friendship since birth, and most thought for life
Was ended in strife,
All because a secret.
