Prompt: I never stood a chance did I? That's the sad part - you did once.
As I stare at the bodies littering the battlefield I ask myself what had I let her become and there was one word that echoed in my mind. Monster she's turned into a monster. As I loosen the grip on my sword a wispy figure appears in front of me.
"You don't want to do this to me."
"Oh my dear benjamin you have no idea what I do and don't want to do."
She flashes me a cold smile. " Although as much as your dear sweet Lillian is begging herself not to do this, I think we will both rather enjoy watching your blood spill."
I shift my weight
"I'm not afraid of you."
"Oh really? You should be."
As she brings the sword down to my arm I have an idea one that I hope works. As our fight progresses I try to draw the real Lillian the Lillian I know back to the surface but alas my hope goes unnoticed by the gods above, and soon I'm flat on my back with a sword up against my throat.
"Lillian my Lillian I know you're in there somewhere please stop this" I plead.
The sword is pressed tighter against my throat.
"Oh sweetheart you really still believe don't you? You still believe I love you"
"This isn't my Lillian talking."
"I was never yours Lukas is the one I belong too and even then I don't belong to him."
"Lukas!" She calls "be a dear and come over to finish our poor little friend."
As he walks over I try pleading with him.
"Lukas I know you don't want this all you have to do is turn around and kill her instead." even saying those words my voice cracks a tiny bit.
"Ben, ben, Ben i like this she protects me all you have to do is say yes."
His sword rests against my throat.
"So what do you say partner?" I look up at him and nod toward Lillian,
"I never stood a chance did I?" He looks at her,
"That's the sad part you did once."
