2013
"I don't even know why we are here" 15-year-old Gulf complained as he pulled the luggage bags from the car.
"your mother said they have hot springs and the tickets were on promotion since it's a new hotel." His father answered him as he helped his son to get the bags down from the back of the car.
"Are you almost done?" Gulf's mother came from the passenger side of the car taking off her sunglasses as she took in the hotel in front of her. She smiled satisfied.
"ok boys let's have a good vacation. We are here for one week so let's make that count" she finished her speech as she looked around for a bellboy.
Just then a young man came strolling out of the sliding doors of the hotel and Gulf's mother raised her hand elegantly, voice high and said,
"excuse me some help here."
The young man looked around but could see there was no one but him. He pointed at himself in question, confused.
"pssh as if there is another person"
"Gulf behave" Gulf's father scolded.
The young man approached them.
"we would like some help with these bags please" she said as she pointed at the three trunks.
"ooh" the young man said as he looked around wondering why there was no concierge attendants at the entrance. "welcome, please go ahead and inside I'll come in with the bags."
He politely said but Gulf's father felt pity that he was alone, "Gulf help him bring the luggage inside, you mother and I will go and check in"
"but paa"
His father stared at him with a look and Gulf grumbled as he started lifting the bags until he found one that was not heavy. He looked at the bellman not pleased by their service and walked in after his parents. He had not wanted to come to this vacation. All he wanted to do was play video games at home and hangout with his friends, but his fancy mother had thought otherwise.
When he got in the lobby he was greeted by a sweet smell. The decorations were breath-taking, and the front desk staff looked pretty. The place just felt comfortable and welcoming and he liked it despite not wanting to be there. He looked around as he waited for his parents to finish their check in.
A few moments later, his mother approached him with his father behind her.
"ok Gulf we are going to look around, we already got a map, would you like to join us?"
"no thank you. I would like to take shower and rest."
"suit yourself. Your father and I are going to take a tour and proceed to our room. Here is your key, its opposite to ours. Please don't lose it. Also, we'll take a break on your grounded rules and give you your phone back so you can call us if there is anything you want and vice versa." She said as she pulled a phone from her handbag and handed it to Gulf.
"if there is any activity you would like to do here let me know I have a budget for you?" His father said as he looked at the map of the hotel.
Gulf just nodded his head and headed for his room leaving everything behind. At least he got his phone back. He was happy. That's everything he wanted, and he was pleased.
When the lobby was clear, the bellman approached the front desk not pleased at all.
"why am I doing this? Which concierge attendants are on duty today?"
One of the ladies with a name tag written Chinda replied nervously. "Boon and Chatri sir"
"why is there not even one person outside?"
"Boon went for a breakfast break" Chinda answered
"Chatri went for a bathroom break" the other lady answered. On her nametag Kaew was printed.
"and you allowed that to happen why?"
They all looked down guiltily.
"let this not repeat itself. I'm going to deliver these bags to the guest rooms by the time I get back I need both of them waiting for me outside. Understood?"
They both nodded and he got a trolley and placed the bags on it. He pushed the bags into the elevator and closed the door.
"weew that was scary" Chinda said as she fell on her chair
"when is the madam coming back. I'm terrified of him" Kaew moaned as slumped on top of the desk.
"he is going to be here for a while. I heard he just got his degree." Chinda said looking at her coworker.
"Isn't he 22 though"
"he is. Young and handsome." Chinda complimented.
"add accomplished on top" Kaew agreed.
The doors opened and both ladies sprung up and got in their working postures. Hands on their stomachs, chests puffed up, head held high and beautiful smiles showing off perfectly lined teeth.
"welcome to Elevate Hotel."
Six floors above them, the young man rang the doorbell and waited but there no answer. He looked at the luggage again and saw another room number. He went and rang the opposite door but still there was no answer. He didn't have the patience to wait. He had things lined up for him to do. He took out the master key and inserted it in and the door unlocked. He got in with the luggage and unloaded it besides the bed.
He was done and ready to leave when the bathroom door opened, and a butt naked Gulf walked out with a white towel on his head, drying his head.
He stopped when he saw he had company in the room. He recognised the person as the butler from earlier. The butler took him in from his toes to his head and Gulf was frozen. He didn't know what to do.
It was a few seconds later that he snapped out of it and covered himself with the towel.
They stared at each other some more. Not knowing what to do in this awkward situation
The young man just turned and left the room with his trolley empty, leaving a shocked Gulf staring after the door.
He turned to go back in the bathroom.
His head turned to look at the door.
He walked to the bathroom door.
His head turned to the door again.
He opened the bathroom door.
His head looked at the door and said,
"was that a boner?"
AN: Hopefully the last MewGulf story I write. I have a feeling this one will be more frustrating than 3Eoncounters. I hope you enjoy it.
