Melting Slowly

Zon has been staring at their potted plants for a long while now. But the thoughts populating his mind weren't really those of the green little things but about a certain person he hasn't seen for days.

It's been 5 days 17 hours 49 minutes and 2 seconds since he last saw Saifah. Or probably more. But his cheeks still get those pink flushes everytime he thinks back to the night the taller guy brought him home.

He knows he's been impulsive. He even considered himself turning bipolar. For how could he ever explain the kiss otherwise? It's so unlike him. Grabbing someone's wrist only to peck the person in the cheek? So out of his character. So not Zon. And it's true he did it. Why? Because Saifah asked for it. Because Saifah looked serious. Because Saifah seemed sad and disappointed and crestfallen when he didn't gave in. And he didn't like it. He didn't want to be the reason Saifah will pull that look on his face.

He didn't notice it before but he's at the same spot in their garden where he brought Saifah and Zol sneakily took a photo of them. He can still remember his words that day. But we can always change our minds. And Zon thinks he might be changing his mind now. But did Saifah just changed his mind again? He asked for a kiss the first time they spent a day together. Surely he wouldn't stay silent and not visit him for days if he's really interested, no?

Zon tried suppressing his depressing thoughts when he realized he never got a chance to get Saifah's number or line. And he never gave him his. Just what kind of a couple are they that they don't even have each other's contacts? Zon's getting so frustrated he started lightly banging his head on the table in front of him. He repeated this several times until his head landed on soft flesh instead of the hard metal.

"Stop it. You're hurting my Zon.", and as if he just rubbed a magic lamp and had a genie grant his wish, he heard that voice again. The same one he's been longing to hear this past few days. Zon then immediately looked up and saw Saifah smiling at him.

"Sai", Zon said the name with a softness he didn't know he was capable of. While the owner of the name only smiled wider and sat across him. Saifah seemed too pleased with the way he was called.

Zon quickly averted his gaze after seeing Saifah's blinding smile. Unknowingly, a blush crept on his face. And as if on instinct, he placed a hand just above his heart willing himself to stop the drumming in his chest.

"W-what are you doing here?", Zon asked trying not to stutter and doing his best to sound annoyed while failing magnificently.

Saifah's smile fade and with a sad voice said, "I miss you Zon. It's been days since I last saw you. Guess I'm the only one feeling that way."

"You shouldn't have only visited now if that was the case.", Zon replied. His voice low while gazing at the plants again. Trying to look at anything other than the guy in front of him.

"I'm sorry my Zon. I had to be at the other side of town to visit another branch. I came back as soon as I was done with work."

Zon felt it silly but found himself relaxing after hearing Saifah's explanation. He was relieved it was work that kept the other from visiting him sooner.

"You really don't have to explain.", Zon said. He knows he doesn't mean it but he'll never admit it.

"I want to my Zon. And you can always ask me anything.", Saifah replied while giving an assuring smile.

With Saifah saying those words, Zon finally looked at him and gave him a little smile of his own. His heart may or may not have skipped a beat with how Saifah is looking at him but Zon decided not to look away.

"You must be tired. Hurry home and rest.", Zon blurted out the words after being unable to hold Saifah's gaze anymore. He wants to spend more time with him but understands he must also be exhausted. Turns out he's not the only one wanting to spend more time with the other.

"I don't want to go home yet.", Saifah stated then stood up and went over to the other side and sat beside Zon. He leaned his head on Zon's shoulder and closed his eyes.

"What are you doing Sai?", Zon queried. Surprised at the other's randomness.

"Just 30 minutes my Zon. I'm really tired after the long drive."

And Zon just hummed. The blush is back on his face and the drumming is there again on his chest.
