A No Is A No Unless I Said Yes

Double Date?

If there is a day worst than the actual day Zon's parents decided to drop the bomb on his arranged marriage, it'll be the one following it. He hasn't eaten anything yet but he already heard his fiancé's name thrice. And that's not the end of it.

Zon is worried he'll be having indigestion so he slowly ate what's on his plate while trying not to snap at his sister for talking about how 'easy-to-approach' and 'helpful' and 'kind' her brother-in-law was.

His mom is quick to notice his silence and addressed him directly. "Don't you find him nice Zon?"

"H-He's fine I guess. Tolerable at least." Zon managed to say after racking his brain for some decent words to say.

Zon's mom beamed after hearing those words. And can't help but feel hopeful.

"Darling, you only met him once. I'm sure he'll grow on you after spending more time with him. How about you ask him out today? You're free right?" Zon choked on his ham and immediately reached for his glass of water.

"I'll think about it. Today I'll be going out with Tutor. We already have plans." Zon said after he drank enough water and calmed his coughing fit.

Zon quickly finished his breakfast and get ready to leave. Tutor's advice, he just realized, is going to cost him ruined breakfasts and tons of patience.

While it's true he had plans today to go out with Tutor what wasn't part of it is bumping with his fiancé while they are both with a different guy.

"I didn't know MY Zon also frequents this mall. There sure are still a lot of things I didn't know about MY fiancé." Saifah said putting emphasis on the 'my' each time.

Zon tried not to flinch with the obvious claim. And failed.

"Oh so you're the fiancé. I'm Tutor. I'm JUST Zon's bestfriend. No need to stake your claim. I'm not a rival." Tutor said with an easy laugh.

"Nice to meet my Zon's bestfriend then." Saifah removed the emphasis. "I'm with my cousin, his name's Fighter.

Tutor briefly glance at the one being introduced and felt himself drawn to the person's eyes. Those eyes stayed on his face longer than what's comfortable but he decided not to mind it.

Saifah then immediately stood beside Zon, grabbed his wrist and talked something about a good place to eat. Zon's too famished he let Saifah drag him along.

Tutor then had no choice but to walk with Fighter.

"I don't think I'm still needed here." Fighter said.

"Is that your way of telling me to follow the couple alone and play thirdwheel?" Tutor said faking a hurt face while Fighter just gave a hearty laugh.

"If there'll be a thirdwheel, I bet it'll be my cousin and not you. Guess I should tag along if only to save my cousin from that embarassment."

"Someone's playing hero." Tutor said teasingly.

"It's more of a babysitter, really." Fighter corrected him and earned a good laugh from Tutor.

"True. Let's go and look after the kids then." Then Fighter and Tutor hastened their steps and went inside the same restaurant Saifah and Zon entered.
