Williams POV
She just stood there, looking at me like I spoke Spanish!

What exactly was wrong with this girl!?

"Barbara!" I shouted, way too loud this time.

She quickly pulled out from her trance, picked up the phone and placed the call.

Barbara's POV
We were sitting in the hospital's lobby, waiting for the doctor to come back with the result.

William insisted that I follow them.

Okay..... fine, he didn't actually insist but he asked and I didn't want to turn him down.

He looked so devastated already, I didn't want to add to his sorrows. For a minute there I could swear I saw a tear drop from his eyes but he turned away too quickly so I wasn't so sure.

"Mr. Delucas and Mrs...." The doctor said, finally coming out.

"Miss. Miss Davis." I offered.

"Is my father okay?" Williams asked before the doctor could say anything.

"I'm very sorry Mr. Delucas, your father is in a coma." The doctor answered.

I saw Williams fall back into his chair. He throw his face into his hands and I couldn't really make out whether he was crying or not. He just looked so frustrated.

"Call the driver." he said, more like ordered though.

Williams has been quiet since we left the hospital.

Too quiet.

I had been quiet too, I didn't know what to say. I know normal people show sympathy but how was I supposed to show sympathy.

His father wasn't even died yet!

Okay, I know I sound very evil right now but you really can't blame me. The same thing happened to my dad, and he died. Williams is lucky to still have his dad alive. All we can do is pray that he wakes up.

My dad had no chance to wake up. He died. Slowly memories of my dad started coming into my mind.

Two weeks before my dad died, on my birthday, he took me to a fancy diner. He gave me a ring, a promise ring. He promised he will never leave me. He promised he would always protect me.

That was also when he advised me not to date till I was 18.

According to him, at fifteen I was still too young. He was just trying to protect me from heartbreak, he wanted my life to be one out of those fairy tales where I go off with a prince and live happily ever after.

Sadly, life isn't a fairy tale. It never ends happily ever after.

"Barbara, isn't this your stop?" Williams asked. I hadn't even realized that the car stopped.

Picking up my things I was about to leave the car when I did the craziest thing.

Why I did it? I don't even know.

All I know is that I took one of Williams' really large hand in mine, I gave it a little squeeze and pecked him on his cheek before telling him that everything was going to be fine.

He looked at me unsure, but I gave him a reassuring nod and stepped out off the car.

Wow, this was probably the most humane thing that I have done in the past ten years.

Six months after my father died, my mother went out and got drunk as usual, but this time she never came back. She drove into a tree and she died.
