Dashing through the temple she reached the entrance of the sanctuary. Remembering the steps to opening it she used her airbending mastery.

Anaya had a long long day, Aang abandoning her, the firenation siege of the temple, the deaths of her people, Monk Gyatso. She longed for a much needed rest. When the doors swang open, she was ambushed.

The same firebender from earlier. "Well, just when I thought you were a sane, decent guy."

"Sorry to disappoint you hawks, I'm very much the same."

Going into a defensive stance she waited for the perfect moment to strike. Now!  Lounging forward she formed an air tunnel. He twirled in the air to dodge.

When he landed he shouted his ultimate move, "ROLLING THUNDER!!!!!"⚡️. He spun in a cyclone and with an incredible force of lightning struck her. Movement was restricted. She was stuck.

The cu-I mean nasty, firebender smirked, "Looks like your the one tied up. Sorry, but I have to take you back to Firelord Sozin. His orders."

"Arrrh, rrrrrrhhhh, uhhhhh!" Struggling was not working.

Nilo wiped his hands smugly, "Looks like my job here is done!"

"-S—s—s-top." Anaya groaned with pain from her ribs. The pain was electrifying and stunned her whole body. She felt like fried fish.

"Hm?"

"W—w—hy d-did -y-you -a-attack u—us?"

"You're joking, you don't know."

The girl gave a killer glare that could even make a grown man pee his pants.

Nilo merely shrugged, "I really don't have time to explain things hawks. Look. I really got to get you back to the boss. You're the avatar after all."

"H—huh? Yikes."

"Yikes?Wat?"

"Mumble mumble mumble..."

"I cant understand anything but I'm assuming, "your moves are so cool!" or "I wish I was popular with guys and ladies like you!" Which I totally understand!"

Anaya gave him a look that said "I don't give a damm" all over, "y—you're annoying."

"I try very hard to be annoying and handsome! Don't insult my ability to annoy!" The firebender pouted.

He then sighed, "If you really want to know..."

His face turned deadly and serious, for a second he was peppy and flipped a emo mode switch, "The airbenders wouldn't listen to the warnings!! You were the ones who attacked first. There battle of the mountains! We're just getting payback for what we loss.", for a moment he hesitated, "look, I don't want to end you or anything. That's not right but, I expected the nomads to be more peaceful. In the end, you all, are liars."

"T-that's n—not t—true," Anaya struggled to protest, "The f-Firelord a—ambushed u-us, f-for n—no reason. W—we h-had n-no grudge with the firenation. I—I don't know why, b—but, p—people I-I l-loved w—were murdered by your soldiers." Tears streamed down her face.

"What. What. Did. You. Say."

"Died, people I cared about are gone."

Nilo went silent, this battle wasn't going the way it was supposed to go. He only followed orders because he assumed they were getting payback. Instead, this was a massacre.

When he was younger, he was a trickster, one day his jokes went to far and people got hurt. He ran. Ever since he hated cowards, liars, and deception. He was a master in fire bending and the arts. So he pursued that path to regain honor for his mistakes.  He was proud to serve his nation, at least he use to think.
