I dashed into my cabin, immediately crashing on my bed. My head was buzzing. This was really happening. He kissed me! He actually kissed me! On the cheek sure, but still kissed me! I was going crazy. I laughed to myself. This was happening. With a smile on my face I fell asleep to the sound of rain clattering down the gutter.

The next morning was like any other I have had here. I got up and dressed in blue jeans and a big t-shirt. I wouldn't be doing anything today. When I reached the pavilion, I stood in line and plucked up my food.
I got eggs, bacon, and a cheese omelet.
I found Amber sitting with James and another guy I did not know the name of.
I found a seat between James and Amber.

"Hey guys." I said cheerfully.

"Wassup?" answered James.

"Nothing much. I'm just gonna sit in my cabin today."

"Like usua-" his voice trails off as he stares past me in the direction of Amber.

"What?" I said not realizing what is happening until I turned around.

As I turned, I saw Amber staring in shock. Hovering over her hand was water. Not just any water, the water wasn't clear like the water in the stream. It was a churning black mob that swirled over her hand in a dark mass. It was the size of a grapefruit. I hadn't ever seen anything like it. When the Water Elementals summoned water to there hand, it was the size of a golfball and crystal clear unlike Amber's.

I gasped.

"What is that?" asked the guy sitting next to Amber.

"James?" I asked.

"I have no idea, Amber?." James answered.

"What is it?" Amber sounded nervous.

"Noah go grab Lynn and Jordyn, they might know." James ordered.

"Ok." said Noah sprinting towards the other cabins.

"Who is that?" I asked pointing the direction Noah went.

"You mean Noah? He's my best friend. His name is Noah Ember, fire element. He's fifteen." James explained.

"Oh okay." I said just Noah arrived with Lynn and Jordyn.

Lynn gasped when she saw Amber and Jordan looked a little pale.

"I can't believe it!" Lynn said.

"What? What is it?" Amber urged.

"It's her Element, or, I should say, Elements." Jordyn answered for her.

"What?" I stared at the water in Amber's hand.

"She has two Elements, Water and Shadow." Lynn explained.

"Has that ever happened before?" James asked.

"Not that I know of." Lynn said as Jordyn nodded in agreement.

I heard the intercom crackle to life.

"All Elementals come to the camp fire. There is some serious business in need of discussion."

All of us slowly got up hoping it wasn't about Amber and her powers. The water dropped from Amber's hand and dripped onto the table.

There wasn't enough space for all of us to sit together, so we sat in different places.

A grown man, who looked like the head of the camp, walked out of the Main Office. Everyone fell silent.

"Hello everyone. There are some important issues we need to discuss here today. The matter is, we are all having a quest." he said in a deep voice.

Everyone was silent. I could almost feel the axiety in the air. I had heard that being chosen for a quest was a great honor. Which means, I wasn't going on a quest anytime soon.

"I have already chosen the leader for this quest." He continued, scanning the crowd.

"And the leader is...James Greyson." He announced.

I sucked in a breath as James rose and walked up to the front of the group with lots of hoots and shouts.

"Thank you, Headmaster." he said politely. So that's what he's called.

"You're welcome James. Now you must pick three people to go on your journey with you. Choose wisely." He said gesturing to the crowd.

I looked down at my feet. If only I could control my powers. If only I wasn't such an outcast. If only James would pick me. I wish he would pick me.

"My first pick is..." He paused. I squeezed my eyes shut. If only he cared enough to give me a chance. If only...

"Sky." He finished.

At the sound of my name my head jerked up. Everyone stared at me. I felt the blood rush to my cheeks. I slowly made way through the crowd and stood next to James.

"I also pick...Noah Ember." He said smiling. Noah walked through the crowd with cheers and whistles. He pumped both fists in the air. I couldn't help but laugh. I spotted Amber smiling at him adoringly.

"And Amber Shadowtide." He finished.

"Thanks." I whispered to him. He gave me a wink.

"Well since that's settled. everyone else may leave I need to discuss the quest, in private."

Everyone slowly evacuated the area. Once everyone had left he continued talking.

"You are going on a rescue mission. You are going to have to rescue one of the most powerful beings ever to live," he paused, "Ice."
