Priyanka was still frozen; she couldn't believe those words. Minutes later, Paul and Denise arrived and ran to Nick when they saw him awake.

— "Hey, dad! Hey, mom!" — Nick greeted them and they smiled widely.

— "I'm so glad you're okay." — Denise commented wiping off some tears of joy.

— "Hello, bro. Still remember us?" — Frankie said.

— "Of course! Kevin, Frankie and Joe." — he responded confusing Kevin and Frankie.

— "I'm Kevin and this is Frankie, but almost." — Kevin commented.

— "Right, right, sorry." — Nick apologized.

Denise called the doctors before continuing their own study. They made some tests and questions to see what was going on.

— "His memory should be back completely in a couple of days, weeks maximum. I'll give you a prescription in case he gets nausea, vomiting, headache and other symptoms I'll explain later." — the doctor told them while explaining all the important information about Nick's status. — "I'll keep him today for observation and tomorrow he'll be free to go. And be careful; don't force him to remember anything." — he added before leaving.

They gathered around, but not too close so he wouldn't feel intimidated. The doctor already asked him personal questions like his birthday, what he did for a living and similar questions so the family skipped those.

— "So Nick, do you know the people in this room?" — Denise asked him.

— "I remember my brothers. Frankie's, I mean Kevin's wife, Danielle; and Joe's fiancé, Sophie. Tom Holland aka Spider-Man and Haz, two great friends. And these beautiful ladies, I don't remember them. Are they like big fans or something?" — Nick expressed.

The girls' heart were being torn apart. Their best friend didn't remember them. They knew the effect was temporary, but it didn't take away the pain.

— "Excuse me for a second." — Priyanka mentioned and walked away sitting on a chair in the hallway.

Everyone felt bad for the girls even though Nick's memory should be fine within a couple of days.

— "I'll go with her." — Olivia said in a sad tone after a couple of seconds and went outside to look for her best friend. — "Hey! Listen, I know it's hard, but he will remember us in a couple of days or weeks; at least, I hope so." — she told Priyanka with teary eyes and she looked at her.

— "I know, but it hurts that after waiting so long he doesn't even remember who we are. I'm his girlfriend and you're his best friend! I still can't believe it." — Priyanka was shouting disappointed and many people walking by heard them.

— "I know! But we just have to wait longer." — Olivia added almost about to cry.

— "How much longer, Liv? What if he never remember us again?"— Priyanka wondered.

— "Pri, calm down. You know that the doctor said he should be fine." — Olivia mentioned and put her hands over Priyanka's shoulders.

— "I can't calm down, Olivia." — Priyanka responded and pushed Liv's hands off of her.

— "I was just trying to help, Pri." — Olivia commented.

— "Well, I'm sorry to break it to you, but you're not helping right now." — Priyanka expressed without thinking and Olivia got a bit upset.

— "Then I'm sorry for trying to be a good friend. Now excuse me." — Olivia said and went to the elevator to get out and get some air because she was really mad and disappointed, even if she didn't want to show it to Pri.
