You invited me to read with you
I agreed and bought a book
You asked to take a look
I said not to kill the mood

You said to start together
Had no issues coz it'll last forever
Said we'll do well in flying colours
Told you to do the honours

While on the same page
You asked  if I was done
Said to calm down
You laughed and called me a clown

We turned to the next page
You said you love this stage
Said twas getting to old for your age
You and said you'll manage

I'm about to turn the page
You look at me with rage
I took it you needed more time
So I let you take your time

You went two pages ahead
I looked at you and said
"Can we be on the same page?"
You sighed agreeing anyway

We've been at this for sometime now
Ready to begin a new chapter
You cried out you weren't
I promised you'll be

We've turned to a new chapter
But you seem less happier
Since we can't go back I wait silent
Then I see you smile at my end.
