My parents had decided that the day they wanted us all to go out for dinner was Saturday. Today. My mom had gotten a reservation at a nearby restaurant. It was pretty fancy but I had been there once when I was younger and enjoy the food. If it was up to me we would be dining in Mcdonald's tonight but sadly I didn't get the choice.

"You all ready for tonight?" I ask Nick on speakerphone as I brush my hair.

"A little nervous, but I've seen your folks before. They're alright."

"I'm sure you'll be fine. What are you wearing?" I pick up the phone and lay on my bed waiting for a reply.

"Clothes" he replies.

"No you idiot, what sort of clothes?" I laugh.

"A white shirt, black trousers and I'm borrowing Pete's shoes" he finally admits.

"That's a point, when's Pete going to take us out?" I chuckle slightly.

"I doubt that's going to happen, unless you want to go hunting or play poker?"

"I'll have to think about it. Anyway, I'll see you in about 20 minutes." I tell him. He says his goodbyes and I say mine, only to see him within the next hour.

I trott out of my bedroom and stand in the front room showing off my dress. Nick's necklace and bracelet was wrapped around my body.

I was originally going to be the one to drive us there to show off my 'driving skills' as Nick calls them but my license hadn't been processed yet. I didn't mind though, I'd prefer not to be responsible for three people's lives plus my own. No thank you.

My mom decided that she would drive us and I sat in the back of the car directing her as to where to go to get to Nick's house. When we pulled up I got out of the car and knocked on his door. He pulled it open and adjusted his hat as he stepped outside.

"You couldn't resist not bringing the hat, could you?" I chuckle at him, he looked nervous.

"It means a lot to me, I couldn't leave it behind" he explains.

"You've never told me the story of your cap, you need to tell me one day" I smile up at him as we both walk towards the car together.

"I'll tell you one day, I promise" he looks back down at me and gives me half a smile. He opens the back door to the car and ushers me in. Bonus boyfriend points for him. I watch my dads eyebrows raise as I step inside and he walks around the back of the car to step in the other side.

"Gentleman" my dad mutters with a small smirk.

Nick climbs in the car and we head off to the restaurant. Nick's leg was shaking as we drove, I think he was nervous about making a good impression to my parents, also the fact he had probably never done this before and he was terrified of messing up.

We all walk into the restaurant and my mom tells the waitress our name so she can take us to our table. Nick couldn't resist holding my hand. But when my dad saw he gave me an uneasy look, he wasn't so sure about Nick yet. I didn't want to go against him anymore than I already did in the past. So I slowly unraveled my hand away from Nick. He gave me a odd, disappointed look.

"Get my dad to like you first." I smirk whispering to Nick as my dad turned away.

"Oh, right" Nick remembers that my parents were with us.

We order our food and Nick and my dad start talking. Which I guess was a good thing. They spoke about general things such as where my dad worked, where Nick worked. They even started to talk about cars at one point when my dad asked him what car he drove. Dad told him he could stop by my dads garage if it ever went wrong. Nick seemed to appreciate his kind gesture.

"So,you live with your parents?" My dad asks curiously. I shoot a glare at him.

"No Sir, with my uncle" Nick replies calmly.

"Did you decide to move out of your parents then?" my dad questions.

"Dad, no" I whisper. Nick looks down awkwardly and coughs.

"Did I say something wrong?"

"No, it's just my moms no longer with us and well...I'm going to be honest with you, I don't know where my dad is." Nick sniffs but composes himself.

"Oh Nick, I'm sorry" My mom rubs the side of his arm to comfort him but he takes a deep breath and tries to forget about the previous conversation.

"I didn't realise son, I'm sorry. If you ever need anything just know that we'll be there for you." my dad states kindly as our dinner arrives on the table.

"Thanks" Nick smiles at him. I was glad they got along, it made my life a hell of a lot easier. We ate our dinner and continued to chat, it was nice to go out to dinner. I barely spent any time with my parents anymore, it was actually quite surprising that they could both make it tonight, their jobs made it hard for them to do anything socially.

The meal was amazing. It was expensive but I was thankful for my parents being able to whip out a credit card whenever need be.

"I can help you pay." Nick announces fishing for his wallet in his pocket.

"It's fine, this was our treat." My dad holds his hand out to Nick to stop him. Nick puts his hand back onto the table. My dad just smiles at Nick, I think I was in the clear as Nick made a great impression of himself.

As we walked out of the restaurant Nick interlocked his fingers in between mine. My dad turns around and sees us, but this time instead of glaring he just smiles. Nick looks at me and grins.

"You did good." I tell him nudging him slightly with my elbow.

"Thanks" He gives me a quick peck on the lips before we all clambered in the car.

It was time to drop Nick off at his house. The entire way home in the car Nick held onto my way across the middle seat. My parents didn't seem to mind so we continued. As we pulled up outside the front of his house I looked at him once more.

"I know it's not traditional for a girl to walk a boy to his front door, but I think it's in order." I glance at him and he replies with a smile before stepping out of the car. I walk with him to the front whilst my parents waited patiently in the car. We reach his doorstep and he looks me in the eyes.

"I'll see you tomorrow, we can go do something fun. Maybe we could go shopping? I want to get this new CD, you can come if you want?" Nick offers holding onto my arms.

"Sounds like a plan"

"Tell your parents, thank you again from me." Nick asks even though he had already said thanks about 10 times.

"Alright, goodnight. I love you" I whisper to him quickly. Before he could speak he kissed me and I couldn't help but kiss him back, passionately. Then I instantly remember my parents could quite possibly watching. I put my hands on his chest and push him away slowly.

"Is something wrong?" he asks releasing his lips.

"Do you want my parents to like you?" I chuckle as I gesture towards the parked car.

"Oh right" he smiles at the car, my dad sat inside awkwardly smiling. I stood and blushed.
