"I need you all to grab a partners now for the slow dance. If you don't have anyone just grab a stranger, live for today!" The crazy kid being allowed to DJ shouted. I was pretty sure it was Wyatt. Yes, the kid that I was 100% sure still smoked more pot than a garden flower.

At this point I was over by the punch bowl sipping on a drink and Nick was somewhere with Luke. I tried to scan the hall with my eyes as the song 'Make you feel my love' by Adele came on.

Suddenly as if it was a scene from a movie the hall conveniently cleared a pathway for me to spot Nick. He grinned at me as I began walking towards him. I couldn't help but keep the smug smile on my face as I approached the one and only Nicholas Randall.

"Someone is finally in the mood to dance." He laughs grabbing onto my hips. I swing my hands around his neck and stare into his eyes. The light blue colour like usual that glistened in any kind of light.

"I prefer slow dances" I tell him.

"So do I" he smirks before taking off his hat, showing his scruffy black hair I found adorable. He held it in his hand positioned by my hip. I then placed my forehead against his, I felt so close to him. So connected.

"The past couple of months have been amazing" I say into his ear as I move our heads for our cheeks to touch. Making it easier for us to speak to each other over the music. His rough stubble poked into the skin on my cheek.

"I want to thank you, not the other way around. You've done do much for me. If you never showed up all them months ago, I'd probably be dead, suicide and God knows what else. Clementine, I love you more than anything else in this world, I never want to lose you." After he speaks his mind he lifts his head so he could take a look at my reaction to his kind words that warmed my heart immensely.

"I love you too. You won't ever lose me. I'll always be there for you." I smile at him, as happy as a kid on Christmas day. Before I knew it our lips were locked on the dancefloor as the music continued to play. Unaware of who was around us, even the teachers dotted around the room didn't bother me at the moment. The only thing in the world that mattered at this time was me and Nick as we rocked back and forth.

I felt a single tear of happiness roll down my face as we kissed. That feeling of love, when you know you've found the one. As if you just know. That feeling of butterflies in your stomach as you connect. The happiness you received when you see their smiling face approach you. Love was a strange word. But its only ever possible to describe it if you've been in the situation. I loved Nick.

The night slowly dragged on approaching my curfew my dad had set me as prom ended. Rachel and Luke never got to be prom king and Queen, I did vote for them both more than once. But someone was obviously more popular than the both of them. That's all it was, just a large popularity contest.

The cab that Nick had called had pulled up outside the school. We both got inside and instructed the driver to go to Nicks house and then to mine.
