"You sure it was a good idea to invite them random guys to your party? I mean you don't even know where they come from." I inform her as we stumbled into my little car. I was still a little concerned about the 'Aaron and Blake' situation.
"It'll be fine, just don't tell Luke about it. He probably won't like it even though he flirts with girls all day." She sighs as she clicks on her seatbelt. I start up the car and we head out of the parking lot. The same parking lot we came out of before Nicks accident.
"I won't, don't worry. Are you sure about this quick party plan?" I ask her as I drive.
"Look, quit your worrying Clem. It's going to be fine, it'll be fun. You just have to relax a little bit." She says trying to de-stress me. I decide to change the subject.
"So where are we heading next?" I question unsure where to turn the car.
"Well Luke said he's round Nick's, so we could head there if you want."
"Sounds like a plan, unless you want me to go and find Aaron for you." I tease.
"Shut up" she chuckles.
I pull up outside Nicks house behind Luke's car. I open the door to Nicks house and I see Luke standing by the TV staring at it, Nick was sat down engrossed in whatever was being shown.
Luke looked terrified. His blood had rushed from his face and he stood with his arms folded and hand over his mouth trying to cover his emotions. Nick on the other hand was catching flies as he held onto the top of his crutches that were leant up against the couch.
"Hey,hey come here." Nick chokes as he lifts up one of his arms for me to perch under.
"What's going on?" I ask as me and Rachel slowly tread into the room. I take my place under Nicks arm just as he had instructed. Rachel goes and stands beside Luke who puts his hands on her waist for her to stay close by.
I decided to concentrate my attention on the TV to see what the boys were so traumatized by. A news banner rolled on the bottom of the screen.
It read:
'Murder of 17 year old Jane Harvey is under review. Another murder of a female student from Few high.'
I suddenly felt a little sick. Another murder? I try to think about Jane in my head. I don't remember her at school. Maybe I had never spoken to her before?
I cuddle close to Nick as my jaw drops in shock, why was someone doing this? It was so stupid and wrong.
"Why are they doing this? I'm sure them girls did nothing wrong" I whimper as I continue to stare at the TV screen.
"I don't know" Nick whispers. He strokes back my hair and allows me to use him as a pillow. I was a little scared, but I felt safer with Nick.
Rachel finally sits down on the other couch and Luke joins her.
"This is really fucked up" Luke sighs. I don't think even he knew what to say.
"Did anyone know her?" Rachel asks to no one in particular.
"I did, she'll be missed" Luke says putting up his hand to confirm he knew her.
"Do you think there will be another memorial at school?" Nick asks.
"There's got to be. We'll just have to see Monday." I wrap my arms around him tightly. I never wanted to let go.
"I have physio on Monday, might be getting off the crutches." Nick explains trying to brighten the mood just a little bit. Nobody replied to him so he picked up the remote and switched the TV off. "We shouldn't be looking at that depressing shit, it'll only make us feel worst."
He was right, it was making me feel worst watching the police helicopters fly over a crime scene giving a birds eye view of the incident on the TV.
"I'm having a party on Saturday" Rachel announces clapping her hands together in excitement, changing the subject and mood instantly. I continued to lay on Nick, I had to admit, he was comfortable.
"Your house?" Luke questions a little bit confused.
"Just a little get together, might even turn into a rager. Depends on what's happening." She says, still with a smile on her face from just talking about that subject.
"I could do with throwing some booze down myself, I'm in." Nick sighs, he repeatedly plays with my hair. I didn't mind, it was nice. It felt relaxing. Now that Nick says about it, drinks doesn't seem like such a bad idea. I know I wasn't usually one for drinking anymore but trust me, there was nothing I wanted more right now than a little bit of alcohol to pull me through these stressful times.
"I'll be in. I'll get some of the guys involved" Luke announces. Sometimes I forgot he had loads of jock friends.
"Invite who you want, I guess we could try and make this into a good party to remember. My parents are going to kill me after but whatever." She shrugs her shoulder, she doesn't seem too bothered about her dad telling her off, it was a fact we were probably going to trash her house.
Nick was warm and I could hear his heartbeat in one of my ears. I rolled over so I could sit up on him for him to cradle me. He didn't mind as I buried my head into the space between his shoulder and his cheek.
"I'll have to wear my new dress" I chuckle to Rachel, my face pressed up against Nicks.
"Yeah! Its so pretty!" She tells the boys, who obviously weren't paying any attention. But then Nick turned his head and met mine.
"Do I get to see it?" He whispered. I could feel his breath on my lips he was so close, I resisted the urge of wanting to make out with him so bad.
"I'll wear it to the party, only then can you see it." I whisper back staring at his beautiful blue eyes. They were like oceans, mysterious and full of life.
I loved Nick way too much, seeing them two boys at the cafe today made me think how lucky I am to have him. He's not like them boys, thinking they're perfect and assuming every girl will fall for them no matter what. With the murders going on, I was glad Nick was around to protect me if anything happened.
He kissed me on the nose.
"Alright, that sounds fair. I'll see it at the party."
