Scene 4

As Ben pulled up in front of Devi's house, he turned to look at her.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" He questions, while also scanning around for sign of anyone about, particularly her mother, then looked back at her. Ben thought Devi's idea was insane, knowing that if it didn't go right Ben and Devi would most likely be done for. But every urge in his body wanted to, and once he had had her he just craved her more. He wanted what they had the night before again more than anything.
"It's your choice Ben, but my mum won't be back till 5pm today. That gives us a good hour or so." She replied a little shyly, picking up her bag and then looked at him. She saw he looked a bit anxious, but he nodded his head, fixed his eyes on her and tried to focus on her.
"Of course I want this, but I can't help but worry too." He replied. "You know... incase your mum finds out."
He did seem anxious, and maybe he just wasn't much in the mood for it today, she thought to herself. So Devi just shrugged and grabbed the door, glanced his way with a half way smile.
"Ok." She replied casually, then opened her door. Ben looked at her suprised.
"Wait Devi." He said quickly. "But it doesn't mean I'm not going to." He said eagerly jumping out of his car. Devi just grinned at him, and he turned to her with a nervous smile. As they got to the front door of her house Devi opened it slowly and carefully, listening for anyone. It was silent, and after a short while she called out to Kamala. They waited and heard no answer. Devi turned to Ben, excitement showing.
"Good. She mustn't be home. I think today she's usually out with Steve." She said softly and in a whisper. Then she shrugged and grinned at Ben. "We have the house to ourselves." Her smile beamed at him and he just stared back with a dreamy expression, realising how excited she looked. He could now tell she was just as eager as he was to be together like they had been the other night, and this made him crave her more.
Then Ben was stunned when she grabbed his hand and pulled him quickly up the stairs. She brought him into her room, and as was the first time his seen her room before he takes a look around, trying to put all the pieces of Devi together. He finds her collection of trophies and chuckles, knowing he has more. But then when Devi then takes him by the lips, his attention instantly is back completely on her, and he slowly wraps his arms around her, taking it all in. His kiss starts to pick up pace, and slowly walks her back, until they eventually trip over her bed, both falling down onto it. They continue kissing, running his hands under her shirt, then slowly he slides his hand back down to her hips and the other runs up to cup her cheek. Devi lets out a soft moan, and he is already feeling himself fired up. He goes to take off his t-shirt, and paused to look at her, both smiling at each other. Then suddenly they hear something loud, like the sound of a plate dropping and then smashing. Startled Devi looks over to the the door horrified to see Kamala standing there stunned with her jaw dropped. Ben instantly jumps up, trips over something on the floor and falls down.
"Oww." He said, rubbing his arm.
"Oh my goodness! Please Ben, put that shirt back on!" Kamala exclaims.
"Kamala your not supposed to be home!" Devi exclaimed nervously back. "I even called out to you, you didn't answer!"
"I had my headphones on!" She yelled back. "What on earth are you both doing anyway? Your mum will be very upset if she knows about any of this." She looked almost furious, which seemed rare for Kamala.
"But you won't tell Kamala! I didn't say a thing when I found you and Steve, remember?" Devi argued back.
Kamala frowned, tilting her head at them. "Ok. But you both are to young for this. You have a whole life ahead of you." She said more calmly this time.
"I'm 16 in two weeks! And Ben is my boyfriend! And I really really like him! What is so different?" She yelled at her cousin.
"Devi. I wont tell your mother. But please do not give me more to hide from her ok." Kamala tried to reason with her, in a patient tone.
It was then that they heard the front door open and then close. Ben quickly looked at Devi his eyes widened. Devi looked horrified and somewhat defeated.
"Oh shit. Ben just say your here to study with me, ok?" Devi whispered to him.
"I don't know. Why does jumping out your window sound more appealing right now?" Ben replied quickly.
"You would obviously break your neck Ben! So my plan." She replies in a harsh whisper. He winces.
"Yeah. We are done for." He looks down. Devi's mum yells from the door. "Devi! Why is Ben's car parked up the front of our house?' She yelled. Devi turned to Ben, giving him a reassuring look, grabbed his hand and moved him over to her study table.
"We are studying for our science exam mum! Up here. With Kamala." She yelled back, giving Kamala a look, telling her to play along. Kamala crossed her arms and frowned at Devi.
"What on earth Devi?" They heard her say furiously as she hastily climbed the stairs. "I forbid you to study upstairs alone with Ben in your room! You must always study down stairs, always!" Then when Devi's mother saw Kamala she let out a relieved sigh and calmed down a little more. Kamala tried to pull off a smile, but she was terrible at it and it came out looking fake.
"Yes aunty, I was just about to tell them to move down stairs." She said glancing sharply at Devi. Devi's mother smiled warmly at Kamala, then looked into Devi's room and noticed Ben's awkward look.
"You look so pale Ben. Are you ok?" Devi's mother asked. "Has Devi been giving you a hard time?" He was still a bit froozen, but managed to reply.
"Yeah. Sure." He said, almost at loss of words. "Her study methods are very different, you know." He replied. Devi's mother looked confused, none of what he said making any sense to her and she frowned at him. Devi just rolled her eyes.
"Mum, we will move down stairs. I'll just grab my things." Devi replied cutting her off before she could question any more. Devi's mother nodded her way.
"And will Ben be staying for dinner than?" She questioned. But before Devi could reply, he quickly got in first.
"Not tonight." He said quickly. "I would but i have to do some stuff at home today." He was determined to avoid any possible interigation that may not end well tonight at the dinner table if he stayed. It came to Devi's mother as a surprise, but she nodded anyway.
"Ok then." She replied. Then her expression changed to become stern and serious again. "Now, start moving downstairs then, both of you. And Ben, I don't want to see you up here again." And with that they did, Devi grudgingly did so more. When Ben and Devi got down stairs, Devi threw him a sorry look. She had felt terrible that she had not made the right decision and had put Ben in the position he had been in. And now, it was not only her, Ben, Eleanor, and Fab that needed to keep a secret from her mum, but now Kamala also. Ben could see Devi felt down and upset, and just smiled her way and held her hand.
"I don't know why my mum was home early? And didn't think Kamala was here either. Wow, was I wrong." She explained to him in a whisper. Ben flopped down on the couch and Devi flopped down next to him with her book. He just glanced at her.
"But your here with me and thats all that matters." He replied, bringing her hand up to his lips and gave it a kiss. Her smile turned into a blush. Then he smuggly looked at her. "Now that I actually think about it, I reckon your plan was really to bring me here to help you study, didnt you Devi? You know you need me, since i obviously get the better marks." He said cheekily at her. Devi grinned at him, and shook her head in disbelief.
"You never give up do you?" She replied with a teasing smile. Then they started going through their books together, Ben held her while they read through the questions.
