Scene 1

"So I guess I could convince your mum about letting me take you out again?" Ben questioned as they walked together down the corridor, holding hands, and then heading outside toward where Eleanor and Fab had been sitting. How Ben loved holding her hand so much, it was just so comforting and intimate their skin touching, and felt like it was a place of their own he could share with her. They felt so warm and soft, and felt unbelievably good in his palms and fingers. He just gazed at her and it felt nice to just be holding her hand.
Devi brightly smiled at him, sensing his eagerness, and yet he had a gentle hold on her with his eyes.
"Yeah, i guess so. I can't wait to see where you take me next." She replied, beaming and giving his hand a little squeeze. He beamed back, and moved her hand up to his lips and gave it a kiss. They had reached Eleanor and Fab by then and had taken a seat across from them. Fab looked at them with a smug look.
"Look at you both." She said squinting their way with a cheeky smile. "Making plans for your next 'get together'." Quoting her fingers on 'get together'.
Eleanor laughed.
Devi just threw her an unamused smile.
"Well while you guys were doing your own thing last night, I think Mr. Shapiro will be happy with all the work I put in myself last night into answering our homework task." Eleanor said happily. Devi and Ben's eyes widened.
"Wait. That's due today!" Ben cried. Devi and Ben both looked at each other worried. Had the top of the class students who never failed to turn in anything on time had finally made their first mistake, Ben and Devi had both thought at the same time. Mr. Shapiro would undoubtedly notice. And may well, pull them over to have a chat with them, not wanting his best students to get distracted and fall behind. Instantly, Ben pulled out his work book quickly and started reading through the questions. He calmed himself, breathed in, and then gentley shrugged at them.
"Simple. I can get most of it done before the bell rings." He said confidently. Devi just frowned at him.
"I don't think so Ben. That's a lot of questions to complete that quick." She replied.
"Well, at least I will try." He said, a little frustrated now. Devi just coolly smiled it off.
"Relax. I plan to tell him I accidentally left it at home." She said in a chilled and layback way, giving her friends a confident look. Eleanor and Fab knew their friend too well, and just knew Devi would reply with something like that. Fab gave her a cheeky grin.
"Oh, but then no time with Ben tonight. You'll be too busy catching up on your homework." She said slyly. Devi gave her a smirk. Fab could be so sweet sometimes, but she had been getting the hang of teasing Devi back alot, she thought. Devi pulled out her lunch, and looked over at Ben frantically writing away in his book.
"Ben. Are you going to eat? Relax." She said to him. He looked up at her confused, like he hadn't heard the question. Fab threw him a bag of Duritos from her bag and smiled. Ben shrugged, and as he was grabbing the Durito bag from in front of him, his eyes passed the hot pocket and it was then that he had caught Paxton glancing over at Devi. He tried to ignore it and push it to the back of his mind, but it was then when Paxton returned to look her way again, his thoughts were done for. Devi began to notice Ben's frown and discomfort, and began to wonder what was worrying Ben.
"Ben? You ok?" She asked, rubbing his back trying to comfort him.
Ben just shook his head, glaring back at Paxton who had noticed now and turned slowly back to his friends. Ben sighed angrily, thinking why Paxton was starting to be a real pain to him. What was it with him checking Devi out? Was he not getting over her? It made no sense to Ben, and Ben desparately still wanted him out of whatever this thing was.
"What is Paxton's problem..." He groans, and it suprises Devi. She looks at him confused. "I swear, he better not look here one more time." He cringes Paxton's way. She sweeps her gaze over toward the hot spot where Paxton had been sitting with his friends still feeling confused, then glances back at Ben. Then she frowns at him.
"Can we not do this all over again Ben?" She said, trying to keep her voice calm. "Remember. I'm with you. Nothing is going to change that."
"Yes, but he is still staring at you. What's with that? His staring at my girlfriend. Does he not get that?" He replies, feeling frustrated and annoyed.
"I dont know. But does it really matter? Maybe his just trying to get over old feelings. I mean, maybe his just thinking." She replies to Ben, then she realises it hadn't made things better. But even so, she couldnt help but feel slightly bad for Paxton too. He had been good to Devi on most occasions, and had feelings for her she didnt know he had. It was then that Devi noticed Ben had been frowning her way. He must have been thinking Devi was defending Paxton or something, but Devi was determined to not end this in a fight like they had had last time this subject came up. Ben felt irritated at the very thought that Devi even slightly cared how Paxton felt. I mean, really, all Ben cared about was that Paxton never found a way into their lives. Ever.
"Yeah. The only thing he should be thinking about is how he'll ever graduate if he can't even pass Mr. Shaperio's class. Eyeing my girlfriend is the opposite of what he should be doing." He scoffs, feeling his blood simmer. Devi frowns at him. Fab noticing their bickering and lookes at them both, had gotten up and sat in front of Devi, covering view of the hot pocket on Devi.
"Problem solved." She smiled at her friends.
Devi and Ben both could not help but return a little smile back too, then continued eating their lunch, and Ben giving up on finishing writing in his book.
