"What?!" I shout, shutting my door.
"Relax." He says.
"How can I relax when both of my brothers like the same girl? Huh?! You're blowing my light pancake flipping mind!" I exclaim.
He looks at me with an amused face.
"Don't laugh," I warn him. "It's not funny."
"Okay." He says. "What's the plan?"
"What are we gonna do?" He asks running his fingers through his hair.
"We? The plan? Oh, no. No. No. No. There's no plan. You're in this alone Elliot."
"Why?" He asks, desperately.
"Whenever I help you, I get into trouble," I say, crossing my arms.
"Luna, please." He goes on his knees. "I'm your brother."
"Jaime, I'm serious," I call him by his middle name. "How do you expect me to help you? I think Eli likes Hee and in case you have forgotten, Eli is your brother. You shared the same womb for crying out loud."
"I know but Hee is the only girl I've felt this way about," Elliot says, a smile forming on his face as he talks about my ginger-haired friend.
"What way? You've never really liked any girl. What makes you think you really like Hee?" I question him.
"Argh Eloise! This isn't about any other girl." He groans tugging at his hair.Eli barges in just then, his earphones in his ears.
"What are you guys talking about?" He asks, pulling the earphones out of his ears.
"Nothing," Elliot says quickly, getting off the floor.
"Then why do you look so stressed?" Eli asks.
"Stressed? I'm sure that's as a result of me trying to convince our dear sister here to come to the party with us." Elliot lies.
"Are you coming?" Eli asks.
"No, I'm not," I say in finality.
"Why?" Eli asks.
"I don't want to."
"I think it's because you're scared of mom and dad." Eli teases.
"I'm just being obedient. You should try it sometimes." I fall on my bed.
"You're just scared." Elliot chips in.
"I am not." I defend.
"Oh yes, you are." Both boys tease.
"No."
"Yes."
"No!" I shout.
"Yes!"
"I'm going to prove to you two that I'm not scared." I get out of bed and move to my closet."Prove it!" They challenge.
"Are you blind? I'm proving it." I shout at them.
"You're just pulling clothes," Eli says. "Yeah," Elliot adds.
"I'm gonna get dressed," I say, rolling my eyes at them.
"Oh goodie, you're coming with us." Elliot claps.
"Just to prove to you that I'm not scared." I stick my tongue out at them and finally settle on a white blouse, black leather jacket, and black ripped jeans, and black boots.
"I need to dress. Get out." I shoo them away but they don't move.
"Go change in the bathroom," Eli says.
"Yeah. We're not leaving. What if you change your mind?" Elliot adds.
"You two know that I can lock myself in the bathroom right?" I ask with a satisfied grin.
"You wouldn't last long in there," Eli smirks.
"Whatever." I frown and move to the bathroom.I quickly put on my clothes and shoes, apply mascara, red lipstick, and tie my hair into a ponytail.
"I look good." I smile and leave the bathroom.
"I'm done," I announce.
"No; you're Luna, I'm Cyril and he's Jaime," Eli says smiling. I face-palm and say, "I mean we can go now."
"About time. What took you so long?" Elliot says and the three of us leave my room.
Getting some dog food for Snowball, we leave the house."Why do teenagers like partying so much?" I ask as we enter the house where the party is being held.
"Partying is life," Elliot shouts and high-fives some random guy.
"Yeah, right." I roll my eyes. "I proved that I'm not scared. Can we leave now?"
"Slow down. We just got here." Eli chuckles.
"Yeah. Mom and dad are not gonna be home for the next two hours we'll be in our beds before you know it." Elliot says. "Have fun but don't let any stupid guy touch you."
I groan, "Okay."About forty-five minutes through the party and all I've done is sit in a dimly lighted corner of the hall and stare at my phone screen.
"What a waste of precious time," I mumble.
"Really?" Someone asks. I jump off my seat within a millisecond, almost tripping. The guy chuckles.
"It's you. How long have you been there?" I ask Stranger.
"Long enough." He smiles.
"Never scare me like that again," I say, sitting back down.
"Sure." He nods. "I thought you wouldn't come."
"Yeah. I wouldn't have, but I want to know my stranger's name." I whisper in his ear.
He pushes my face away and chuckles. I laugh too.
"So are you gonna tell me who you are?"
"Try not to laugh." He says.
"Why?" I ask.
"My name is Amen." He says proudly. I just stare at him with an amused face.
"I know you want to laugh." He rolls his eyes.
"True but wow! You have a unique name." I say in admiration.
"Thanks." He smiles. "Can I get you something to drink?"
"No, thank you. I don't drink," I shake my head.
"I never asked if you drink," He says, amusement clear in his voice. I smile sheepishly.
"C'mon, I'll get you something." He pulls me up to the kitchen."I hope you drink coke?" He teases.
I chuckle, "Yeah."
"Thanks." He passes me the coke and sits beside me on the countertop.
"I've never seen you at school," I say sipping my coke through a straw.
"That's because we're in different schools." He points out, still smiling.
"You have a contagious smile," I inform him, smiling too.
"Really?" He asks.
"Yeah, look at me." I chuckle. "I'm probably glowing."
"Well, I also like your smile." He pulls my cheeks. I laugh and slap his hand away.
"I like your laugh too." He adds.
"Thanks." I blush and just stare at his misty brown eyes. He's good looking just like Cadmus.
Can someone please tell me why I'm bringing Cadmus into this? He's the devil incarnate for speaking out loud and besides, Amen has a way better personality than Cadmus."Eloise?" Someone calls. I avert my gaze to the owner of the voice. Speak of the devil.
"Hey, Cadmus." I wave. He gives me a slight wave.
"What are you doing here?" He asks surprised.
"I'm partying," I respond.
"Uh, yeah. I'll leave you to it." He says nervously.
"Is your girl here?" I ask wiggling my brows.
"Yes, she's here but she's with someone else." He says, throwing Amen a cold glare before storming off."Oh," I utter, turning to a smirking Amen. "Why are you looking at me like that?" I ask him.
"Nothing." He says.
My phone vibrates in my pocket. I retrieve it and my eyes widen at what I see on the screen.
"What's wrong?" Amen asks.
"I need to find my brothers like now." I jump off the counter and rush out of the kitchen. He follows me.
There are bodies everywhere reeking with sweat and alcohol. I elbow my way through the masses of bodies.
"Do you know where they are?" I ask when we step outside.
"There." He points to some boys laughing by a car.
"Elliot! Eli!" I shout. They turn to look at me but ignore me.
"These two are such fools," I murmur and run to them. I pull their ears, getting chuckles from the other guys. I glare at them and they shut up.
"Ow! Eloise!" They both cry. "What's wrong with you?"
"We need to get home right now," I say dragging them by their ears. My phone vibrates again. I release them and read the text.
"Oh no! This is so bad." I whine reading the text.
"What is bad?" Elliot asks. I frown.
"You! You were the one who said, 'we'll be in our beds before you know it'." I mimic Elliot from earlier.
"Yeah so?" Eli asks.
"I hope you haven't lost your sense of sight." I show them the text messages.
Now all three of us have our phones sending notifications again and again and again.Boo♡: Eloise! Where are you?
Boo♡: You better be hiding somewhere in this house.
Boo♡: The three of you are in so much trouble. Get back here!!"We're so dead."
"I don't wanna go home."
"Bury me."The last text has us rushing to the car.
HOME NOW!!!
