~Avisha's View~
Soft pillows. Soft bed. Soft clothes. Sweet scent. Magnífico! Great start for a new day.
Wait! This isn't how my life works. I must be missing or probably dead. I'm hoping for the latter.
I open my eyes and close them immediately due to the amount of light streaming in. Slowly, I open them again and get used to the light.
"Where am I?" I scratch my head looking around the room which looks familiar.
"Good morning Skinnybones!" My eyes widen at the person I'm seeing.
"Luis!" I spring off the bed, rushing to him. "I missed you so much." I engulf him in a bear hug."Well, you could have called." He hugs back.
"We both know that I don't own any electronic gadgets." I smile.
"Well, that's about to change my dear." He bops my nose and I scrunch my brows.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"C'mon." He leads me into another room and picks up a bag."Merry Christmas Sia!"
"You know it's not yet Christmas."
"Well, it's almost Christmas and so it still counts. Open it now." He urges. "Okay." I smile at his eagerness.I unwrap a box and just stare at the object in my hand. "You got me a phone."
"Do you like it?" He asks nervously.
"I do. Thank you." I smile, hugging him again. "You really shouldn't have. It must have cost a lot. Thank you.""It's fine. Now we can talk all the time." He gives me a sad smile.
"What are you hiding? Don't deny it. Just spill." I cross my arms over my chest and wait for him to start talking.
"My parents want me to stay with them now," He sighs. "In other words, I'm not coming back after I leave in two days."
"Oh," I utter. "I'm gonna miss you."
"Me too Skinnybones but we can talk on the phone and see each other through video calls so it's not much of a big deal." He smiles trying to ease the atmosphere.
"Yeah, I guess." I smile too."So what have you been up to? Anything new?" He asks, making me sigh.
"Would you believe me if I said I'm getting married?" I ask and he starts chuckling.
"Nice one Sia. Who are you getting married to? Yash Agrawal?"
"Yes, I'm getting married to Yash." Yash Agrawal is the man I'm getting married to. He's an Indian and one of the wealthiest men in the state."I'm not joking Luis!"
"You're serious?" He asks. I nod in response and see the blood drain from his face.
"But how?!" He fumes.
"I don't know. I was there one day and my mom was like, "You're getting married to Yash. You're leaving my house and I'm getting my money.""So she's selling you to Yash?!" He growls. "How could your mother do that to you?"
"It's fine. She never wanted me anyway. She keeps saying I'm a mistake and I'm kinda glad I'm leaving her." I shrug.
"But you can't be Yash's wife! It's wrong. This is so wrong! I can't let him take you away." He tightly holds unto me."Luis, I'm going to be fine. Don't worry about me. What have I got to live for? I'd rather spend the rest of my life in Yash's home rather than with an abusive mom."
"Don't say that Sia. You're my best friend and more like a sister to me. I can't stand by and watch some filthy man take you away." He caresses my cheeks.
More like a sister to me... those words keep ringing in my head as I stare into his warm brown orbs. The words are starting to make me feel sick with each second that passes. He still doesn't see.
"I think I should go now," I murmur.
"What? No way Sia. You are not going back there." He objects.
"Please, I need to go back. It's the best thing to do. I promise I'll keep in touch. Please, Luis."
"Argh! Skinnybones." He rubs his face. "Okay, I'll take you back. Just wait here." I nod and he leaves the room only to return shortly."So I uh- I got you something else and I was planning to give it to you later but I guess now is okay so please turn around." He says nervously. I do as told and feel his warmth radiating from behind me. It's just so welcoming.
He places a gold necklace, which has the words, "I love you" around my neck and gently traces the tattoo beside it.
"I love it," I say referring to the necklace but it seems he doesn't get my message.
"I love it too. What does it mean?" He asks.
"I don't know what it means," I answer.
"That makes it mysterious and so beautiful." His breath fans my neck. "Just like you." He places a soft kiss on the tattoo, sending tingles rushing through my body.Luis just called me beautiful and the way his fingers and breath feel on my skin is making me have dirty thoughts.
I clear my throat and turn to face him before I do anything stupid like- shut up Sia! You're in the sibling zone. Ouch!
"Thanks for all the gifts, supporting me and for being my friend. I really appreciate everything." I hug him tightly.
"No need to thank me." He chuckles, holding me closer.
"No, seriously I wish I could give you something too. I'm such a bad friend."
"Well, if you're that worried then there's something I've been wanting to do for so long, I'd be happy if it happens now." He grins."And what would that be?" I ask expectantly.
He opens his mouth to talk but shakes his head. "It's not important. Let's just get you home."
"No, I'm not going anywhere until you tell me what you want."
"Sia!" He whines.
"Luis!" I mimic him. "Just tell me."
"How hard could it be?"He chuckles running his fingers through his blonde hair. "It's very hard."
"Please," I encourage him."I want to kiss you."
