The music from my earbuds blared to the point I nearly have a fucking seizures every few seconds.
A picture of me and a white haired male hung from my wall. At least I have something else to focus on instead of the petals slowly flooding my throat. Travis was holding my hand in the picture. I remember it was a windy but warm evening. The Halloween festival was really fun, one of the best moments in my life. The whole gang was there but Travis and I stuck extra closed and nearly kissed in the maze.
"Heh that dork was really scared of a pumpkin that wanted to talk about politics" I wheezed before coughing up a yellow rose petal with a red tip. My mouth curved up into a bitter grin. They say those types of rose petals represent friendship to falling in love.
Of course as soon as Katelyn showed up his attention was fully geared to her. I remember seeing them talking from a distance, laughing for once Katelyn didn't seem like she wanted to yeet him through a door. Granted there have been many times that was completely warranted, she really is a straight up queen. Laurance came up to me smelling like fried chicken. I teased him relentlessly of course. It got my mind off the sting in my heart that later spread to my lungs in the form of petals. I fell asleep on Laurance's shoulder dreaming of fried chicken for that night.
"Hey girly we're all leaving soon" I ripped off my earbuds and quickly jumped up to wipe the blood and petals off myself. Being roommates with Lucinda has many upsides, the only downside is she tends to drag me into last minute plans a lot.
"Coming!" I shouted back fighting back a cough.
"I haven't seen much of Y/n~sama lately is she alright?" Kawaii~Chan said, wondering out loud standing with everyone on the curb of the street.
"Travis, bro, you've been looking a little off lately to" Dante said, patting his back as Travis stifled a cough.
"Hey Lucy, mind if I use your bathroom real fast" Travis said in a raspy tone of voice. After getting the thumbs up from Lucinda he rushed inside.
"Why is this happening" The green eyed guy said with glossy eyes. Hunched over and hacking to sing a trail of burgundy red and many somehow green cornflower petals. Quickly googling my symptoms it sounded like something called the 'Hanahaki disease'. Wow getting the cure to this is really intense, and it means I- means I won't have feelings for Y/n anymore.
I remember the night this all started.
"Wah! That pumpkin was really scary Y/n" I said holding on to Y/n's hand. She looked at me with a pretty grin and the starlight bounced off her making it seem like she was glowing.
"Pfft It wasn't that bad" the h/c girl said adjusting her 'Heathers' Veronica cosplay costume.
I slowly let my hand drift down till it was holding hers. Y/n's eyes traveled back and forth from my eyes to my lips. I started to lean up/down to her height as she did the same.
"AAHHHHGGGGG" a sudden screech made us both jump back to each other.
After a long confusing 20 minutes we finally made an end to the maze. I spotted Katelyn and Garroth grabbing some snacks for everyone.
"Guys you'll never guess what happened" I said jogging up to them. I explained the almost kiss gaining a high five from Garroth and my hair getting ruffled by Katelyn. Garroth went to the bathroom and I'm not sure how long me and Katelyn were joking around for. By the time I got back Y/n was asleep cuddled against Laurance's shoulder, for some reason he smelled amazing. Seeing that really made me hurt.
Ever since then it feels like my lungs were being slowly filled up with fluttery sensations and pure pain.
"Oh my Irene! Y/n are you ok!?" I heard the panicked voice of Lucinda shout from upstairs. With a sharp gasp I got out of the bathroom and rushed up the stairs to Y/n's room.
Once I got there I nearly blacked out from the sight.
Y/n was sprawled across her desk with her mouth hanging with a trail of blood and flower petals...
Lucinda moved some hair out of her face and her unfocused gaze met my horrified ones.
Gritting my teeth I held back another set of coughs before everything went dark.
