Movie Night- Logicality

We must look a little closer. And when we do, we see that the doughnut hole has a hole in its center. It is not a doughnut hole, but a smaller doughnut with its own hole, and our doughnut is not holed at all!

Patton jumped as Logan’s head landed on his lap, and tried not to wake him. It wasn’t often that that hardworking side actually took breaks to eat or sleep, so Patton didn’t want to take any rest from him. Even now, as they watched Knives Out together on the couch, the notes for the next Sanders Sides sat on Logic’s lap. They were starting to slide off the couch, so Patton set them on the coffee table instead.

It had taken a lot of convincing to get Logan to take a break and watch a movie with Patton, but he had been won over with a mystery movie and Crofters. Patton set everything up ahead of time; the pillows, the blankets, the hot chocolate, and the popcorn. He was so excited for time alone with Logan, taking the time to make sure everything was perfect. You see, Patton had had a crush on the logical side for a long time, and he always seemed to get tongue-tied around him. So Patton came up with a plan. There’s no conversation during a movie, so a movie would be the perfect time to spend with Logan, one-on-one.

Of course, he hadn’t taken into account Logan’s exhaustion, so he wasn’t prepared when Logan fell asleep on his lap. After making sure Logan was safe and his notes were away, Patton paused the movie and covered the sleeping side in a blanket. Looking at him, Patton couldn’t understand how cute Logan was. His face heated up at the thought of Logan knowing what he was thinking, but then he remembered that the side was asleep, and couldn’t hear anything. Coming up with all of the courage in his body, he took a breath, then started to talk.

“I really like you Logan,” another big breath, “I really, really like you. I like how you are so smart. I like how patient you are with me, and how you put up with my jokes. I really like how you always accept my hugs. I like your cute smile and your fluffy hair and your bright eyes. I like your glasses and your amazing pancakes (I’ve just decided that Logan makes great pancakes). I like you, a lot.” Patton sighed, wishing he could tell Logan all of that when he was awake, but knowing he would never have the courage to.

It was a few days after the famous movie night, where Patton confessed his feelings to Logan. Since then, Logan hadn’t mentioned anything to Patton, so as far as the moral side knew, Logan was still oblivious to his feelings.

Patton was in the kitchen making waffles when Logan entered the room and sat at the counter.

“Good morning, Lo-Lo!”

“Good morning,” Logan responded with a curt nod.

“Would you like to help me out here? I’m having a war with the batter, and the batter is winning.” Patton was indeed struggling with the waffle batter, and it was starting to get all over him and the kitchen. Logan offered a smile as an answer and started to help Patton clean and make waffles. As he cleaned, Patton noticed the Logical side was quieter than usual, even by Logan’s standards. Patton could tell something was wrong with Logan but didn’t know what.

“Can I ask you something?” Logan finally spoke. His head was down, and he avoided eye contact with Patton.

“Of course! What’s up?”

“Well, I’m not quite sure how to phrase this,” Logan began, “But the other night when I fell asleep during the movie…”

“Yes? You can just spit it out kiddo.”

“How am I supposed to spit it-? Never mind. That night, I heard you talking… about me.”

“Oh?” Patton was starting to figure out what Logan was getting at, and his face turned a light shade of pink.

“You mentioned really liking me. And then you started listing things you liked about me. And I wanted to know- how do I state this- I wanted to know if you meant what you said. Do you really like all of those things about me?” Logan finally lifted his head, and Patton was surprised to see that his face was flushed, an unlikely occurrence for the normally emotionless side.

“Yes. I meant it all. I really like you, Logan.” Logans blush deepened to a deep red.

“Oh. Well, that’s all. Thank you for the clarification, Patton. I’ll be going now.” He started to back out of the kitchen, trying to avoid eye contact with Patton.

“Now wait a diddly-darn minute,” Patton said, grabbing Logans arm, “You can’t just leave after I admit my feelings for you. What about you? Do you feel the same way?”

“I suppose I do-” Logan’s answer was cut off by Patton pulling him in for a kiss. The Logical side immediately reciprocated, melting into Patton’s touch. When the two separated, Patton’s face was glowing.

“I-” Logan paused to clear his throat, “I’m glad we figured that out.”

“Me too, Lo-Lo! Now I should probably get back to making waffles, but I’m not going to forget about this.”

“I won’t either, Patton. Perhaps we could watch another movie tonight?

I hope you enjoyed! I actually thought this one was cute, plus I really like Knives Out and I feel like Logan would like it as well.

(I like that I'm writing these notes even though I'm the only one that reads these. Hello future me!)
