Never knew having a mate would be so hard

                                         When i finally got over my heat every thought came back to me.I rolled over to see Josiahs chest and freaked out.I fell off the bed and quickly ran out of the room.Josiah was the perfect mate this week.He held me and kissed me when i wanted it but he would never allow it to go farther than kissing.

                                      I sat with my head in my hands.I hated the feeling of being helpless.I was quickly falling for Josiah and that scared me.I mean my last mate died,then Josiah sorta cheated on me.I walked over to the window looking out on the beautiful scenery.I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist and automatically knew it was my mate.Josiah pulled me closer and kissed my neck,i let out a small moan causing him to laugh."Raven i know we had a rough start but your my mate and I love everything about you.I may not have been your first mate but i know you two only mated once.I might sound mean but im glad your first mate died,because if he hadnt i would have never got to meet you and be able to love you.Im sorry for all the mistakes ive made.When you were in heat and i saw how much pain you were in, it broke my heart because i knew i was the only one who could help you and it made me realise that you are my mate as i am yours.I should have been by your side from the moment we found out we were soul mates.But instead i threw a childish fit because you were always busy.I should have taken pride in that because you are a wonderful Alpha and i know you will be a wonderful queen.I guess what im really asking is will you Raven accept me as your mate?''I nodded as i turned around."Yes" I whispered. He smashed his lips on mine and kissed me. I felt myself moan as my body hit the wall and he sucked on my tongue. We heard a throat clear and quickly pulled away seeing the king and queen smiling softly."Good to know you finally made up. Tonight is a royal dinner and we want you there Raven." I nodded and ran upstairs beginning to get dressed. I curled my hair and pulled on this beautiful blue dress that braught out my eyes. It had a sweet heart neck line and went to the floor.It was tight until my hips then flared out a little bit. I put on light makeup smileing at myself as i heard the door open. I looked over to see the queen."Your beautiful my dear. Now since you are royalty you must wear a crown. Yours will be different when your queen but for now wear this."She gave me a beautiful diamond crown that i laid on my head. It felt right to have it on. I knew i was ment to be royal. I thanked her and started to walk downstairs. I hadnt realised how long it took me to get ready. Everyone was already here. People bowed as i walked down the steps showing respect to their future queen. I looked over to see the little whore in a tight red dress that showed everything and was trying to hang off Josiah who kept pushing her away. I forgot she was a duchess'es daughter. I walked over grabbing Josiahs hand. She started to curse and get in my face,pulling my hair. I held my cool and pushed her away."I will not allow that behavior at a ball like this.Since you cant behave nore dress like a proper duchess then you need to leave, your family may stay but you may not."My voice rang out,proud and strong. She looked at me"You cant make me."I bit my lip ot of anger."She can. I also sapport this"Josiah said as well as the queen and king. She whined as she was taken out of the building.

                       Josiah pulled me onto the dance floor and spun me around to the music.I giggled and layed my head on his shoulder.His arms tightened around me,reminding me how good it felt in the arms of my mate.As the night went on i kept getting the feeling that something bad was going to haappen.

                      I looked around the room and saw a change in the background of the window. I saw something flash across it. I kicked my heels off and grabed a knife, cutting the skirt of my dress off. I ran towards the window and pushed a child out of the way the minute rouged crashed through the windows. The bad thing about some royals in their not trained to fight until they were 16 and alot of children were here tonight. I saw a rogue heading for a group of kids and quickly jumped infront of them going into mamma mode."Air protect them let nothing through other then those who fight for the good."I whispered seeing the white light surround them. I quickly changed into my wolf and started fighting. It wasnt exactly proper that i was fighting but i didnt care. These were my people and i would fight for them until i died. I  felt an extreme pain go up my side. I looked down to my side where a huge chunk of skin was gone. I howled in pain,but didnt stop fighting. When the fight was over i had been beaten up completely. I limped over to Josiahs wolf whimpering. He changed back and ran over to me."Baby"He cried as i turned back. I looked down my body covered in blood. I looked up at him and the next thing i new was i fell into his arm and blackness surrounded me. My last thought was' At least this time it wasnt my mate"
