"hit it mingyu!" jihoon screams from the bleachers on the evergreen field."agh! ow- i almost catched i-it! darn you stupid ball-" mingyu whines, rubbing his arm that was hit by the baseball.
"jihoon!" a tall, pinkish-brown haired boy; rather a substitute coach that goes by the name, lee taeyong calls out to the younger boy. "coach? you called me?"
"yeah, whats wrong with that friend of yours. he literally watched the baseball zoomed past him! sigh. i mightve made the wrong decision to join him in the team." he sighs, looking at mingyu who was now trying to juggle three baseballs.
"nah. he's fine, trust me" jihoon winks.
"oh you better make sure, or youll take the blame for me when the team loses this season. i still dont even know why i was chosen to be the substitute coach when there's like, 69 P.E. teachers in the department"
"coach-" he sighs. "just call me hyung, hoon. its cringy to be called coach, agh."
"alright, hyung. you were chosen because you nailed that laid down move when you were dancing to that song! its like uh- a- gymnastics!"
"hoon, im not a gymnast. and besides, i barely know a thing in sports. you couldve been the coach. other than that, youre the captain." he sighs, digging his face to his palm. "fine, but you gotta trust me in this. mingyu is d-different you know? he has potential, talent. he just doesnt know it yet."
"well, i-if you say so" he chuckles nervously. "of course, he'll be fine-"
"hyungs! look! i can juggle three baseballs now!" mingyu brags while moving step by step to the two older boys. taeyong flashes jihoon an anxious look and received a shrug by the boy.
"wow this is so cool- agh!" mingyu shouts again. until he runs through a tree branch, because of him not looking where he was going. "mingyu are you okay?" jihoon asks.
"y-yeah. ow- im fine. h-hi junhui-hyung!" mingyu utters shakily with wobbly legs and a dazed look while clutching his head.
"mingyu, my name is jihoon- oh hi jun!" the boy replies awkwardly, then he turns around to see that there was another boy that enters the field, and it was junhui.
"uh- h-hi?" the chinese boy stutters. "what are you doing here hyung?" mingyu now asks in a steady tone. "yeah. what are you doing here?"
"uhm. actually, i dont know. but what are you doing here, mingyu?" he stutters ungainly. "jihoon-hyung said that hyung here, called me for a substitute for the team. which is why i dont know i was picked." mingyu explains, pointing to the two older boys, taeyong and jihoon.
"o-oh. is that so?"
"yeah. soo, why are you here jun?" jihoon asks again. "um. i- uh-"
"why do you have a pair of rubber shoes and a jersey uniform in your bag?" he points to the see-through black bag of junhui that he was carrying all along. "oh this? uh- no no no. it isnt a jersey pair of course. its a- uh. my b-books! yeah, books."
"books? we have lockers for that."
"no, i b-borrowed books from the- library." he continues to stutter. "library? you never even took a step inside. wait, i know why youre here."
"y-you do?" the boy shakes nervously. "yeah! youre the other substitute for that other player that was injure-"
"what?! no no no. theres a m-mistake. im not the one. its uh- that junhee guy. no, junhua! uh- junho? yeah t-that guy" he tattles, receiving weird and confused looks from the three other boys.
