"Hello," Chanyeol said putting his phone on speaker.
"Son," Chanyeol's dad said. "I called you last night you never picked up."
"Sorry, practice and everything is wearing me down. I meant to call back this morning. Is everything alright?"
"Yeah I was just letting you know me and your mother will be coming to your game next week."
Chanyeol knew the pressure was on every time his parents attended his games. His mother was a sweetheart who cared more about the wellbeing of her son, while his dad cared more about Chanyeol going pro.
"It should be an interesting game, we're going against our rival team."
"I checked the schedule, have you heard from any agents?"
"Yeah. Ohio, Cali, Michigan. A few others. I'm still waiting on Georgia."
"What about Georgia?"
Chanyeol shut his eyes. "Nothing yet, but I should be hearing from them this week."
Chanyeol's dad let out a disappointing sigh, "Son, Ohio is clearly the better option long term. We'll talk when I see you next week. Make sure to call your mother."
Chanyeol's boarding school was only an hour away from his house. He had a car so he could visit home whenever he wanted, but he hated visited.
"Alright and I will," Chanyeol said waiting for his dad to hang up. "Hello?"
"That took forever, what did he want?" Mina said coming off of hold.
When Chaeyoung asked Chanyeol were him and Mina still in contact he said he replied to her messages some times, which was a lie. He replied to every message and answered every call.
"Just regular football stuff," Chanyeol responded.
Mina never brought Jaehyun up again. She apologized for cheating countless times, but she never spoke about him. He knew they were still dealing with each other.
"I miss you," she said in a soft tone.
"I mi-miss you too," Chanyeol said kind of feeling defeated after. He didn't know why he was still talking to her, but it was almost as if he couldn't stop himself. Chanyeol kept reminding himself that they been together for so long and his behavior was normal, but he was starting to not believe his own words. He pulled his phone away from his ear seeing Chaeyoung text him saying she's near by.
