Chapter 4

"W-why?" I unconsciously asked.

I'm still trying to process everything that's happening. I know the reason why he's acting this way. But him being so nice to me is actually not a good idea.

"I just really want to make it up to you, this time in my own way." he seems so nervous while stating those words.

I confusingly looked at him. I was about to say a word when someone called his name.

"Lucas, Max is here! Let's go."

Lucas was about to follow his friend when he suddenly stopped and looked at me.

"Again, no pressure, Harper. Don't worry you can say no." he smiled before going back inside.

He really knows how to make my heart flattered and left me speechless. After I take some time to breathe and contemplate, I went back to our couch to look for my friends.

"Si Louise?" I asked Jewel while she's pouring a Bacardi into her shot glass.

"Maybe she's with her new found friends." she shrugged.

Natawa na lang ako si sinabi n'ya. Si Louise pa ba? Kahit saan may nakikilalang bagong kaibigan.

"Malamig ba sa labas, you look pale. Are you okay?" She looks so worried.

I just gave her a small smile and nodded.

"Ano erp, lasing ka na?" Thomas asked when he got back to our couch.

"Mukhang may amats ka na." He added while pointing at my face, grinning.

He gave me a glass of Bacardi, and I drink it in one shot.

Jewel suddenly tapped my shoulder. Sinundan ko naman kung saan siya nakatingin. Papalapit pala sa area namin si Lucas.

"Where's Louise?" Lucas asked, still searching around probably looking for his sister.

"Baka may nameet na ibang n'yang kakilala." I answered. Pero hindi ko siya matingnan ng diretso kaya kunwari tumitingin din ako sa paligid para hanapin ang kakambal n'ya.

"I'm about to go home. If you want, sabay na kita." He simply uttered.

Narinig ko pa kung paano biglang napaubo si Jewel nang dahil sa sinabi ni Lucas. Halos madura naman ni Thomas 'yung iniinom n'ya. Well, it was so unusual for him to offered me a ride. Kaya expected ko rin na ganito kagulat yung mga kaibigan ko.

"N-no, it's okay. Kailangan din ng kasama pauwi ni Louise. Don't worry I'll check on her. Baka malasing ulit, e." I try so hard not to sounded awkward.

"Okay." He nodded before walking outside the bar with his friends.

Napahinga na lang ako ng malalim. Ramdam ko naman na nakatingin din sakin sila Thomas at Jewel.

"Ano 'yun?" Jewel whispered on me.

"I don't know." I shook my head.

"Hoy, close na ata kayo nung kakambal ni Louise. Diba crush mo 'yun?" Thomas voiced out loudly.

"O, sige. Ilakas mo pa." Pagta-taray ko.

"Crush mo 'yun diba?!" At mas lalo pa ngang nilakasan ang boses.

"Ah, diba crush mo rin 'yung kakambal n'ya?!" I teasingly smirked.

"Tol, inuman lang walang bukingan." He suddenly looked nervous and got a bottle of Smirnoff.

I almost spit out my drink from laughing when I saw his annoyed face. He just rolled his eyes and left.
