"What did you say?" I asked so he can repeat what he said. I clearly heard it, he likes me. But my mind can't fully comprehend those three words that he said. I just want to hear it again. I'm still looking at him with an unexplainable expression on my face due to shock.

"I said, I like you," He reiterated while trying his best to avoid my eyes, so he's just staring from nowhere.

He put his left hand in his pocket and licked his lower lip like he's too shy to confess.

Is it real? Is he even sincere when he said that to me? Well, I think so. He sounded so genuine and sincere when saying those words.

Before I can reply to anything he said, I grabbed him inside my unit so we can privately talk. I know that we badly need a serious conversation, and I don't want my neighbors to eavesdrop or hear our talk. I also don't want to create a scene in this hallway. It's already late, so I don't want to bother others.

When we get inside the balcony, I took a deep breath, still in the midst of processing everything on my mind.

"Are you pranking me? Seriously, Lucas, if you're just making fun of me please stop it," I glared at him.

"Why do you always think I'm making fun of you?" He slightly locked his jaw and gave me a meaningful stare. He's standing there not too far away from me and leaned his back on the glass door.

So how am I going to answer it? Maybe because he doesn't give me any hints that he likes me or it happens so fast. I'm so damn clueless.

When he noticed that I couldn't answer his question, he walked towards me and leaned his elbows on the railings.

"I'm not saying this to make fun of your feelings, Harper. And I'm not asking you to feel the same way. But please do believe when I said I like you. I really do," He glanced at me. His eyes convey a lot of emotions. Is it even possible that you can feel the sincerity of a person just by looking at their eyes?

"Maybe you think it happens so fast or I'm still into Erin but just the thought of you slowly drifting away from me makes me insane."

"I gave myself some time to contemplate because I don't want to be unfair to you. I want to be sure about my feelings before I can finally confess. But those weeks without you made me feel so incomplete," his lips slightly rose up when he saw the surprised look on my face. "I'm the happiest when I'm with you."

I pursed my lips to stiffen a broad smile. Never have I imagined this would happen. I want to jump and squeal, but I refrain myself since I feel conscious because of how deep his gaze is.

"Si Erin?" I cautiously asked. "I accidentally saw you kissing, so I assumed you got back together."

I need to open up the topic because we both deserve to know each other side. And I have to be straightforward to him if I want an exact answer.

He doesn't even look surprised about what I've said! So he knows that I saw them kissing? How? Did someone tell him? The first person who comes into my mind was Louise. But I firmly remind her not to mention anything to Lucas!

"She wants me back but I refused," He closely leaned on the railings while looking from a far. His hair is swaying a bit, following the rhythm of the breeze and that makes him even more handsome. "There was nothing about that kiss. I immediately stopped her."

"Why did you refuse? It's already your chance to get back to her," I'm sounding like I'm pushing him to his ex.

"Why not? Do you want me to get back to her?" He slightly raised his brow when he looked at me. There's annoyance through his tone.
