This Game Called Love

Chapter 3

After our heart-to-heart talk in the library, we decided to go back to our classroom. When we arrived, we saw some of our classmates reading their notes while we can hear the loud voice of Louise.

"Pota, bakit ang bobo mo?" she cursed loudly while holding her phone. She's probably playing something. She sat beside Thomas who is also busy playing on his phone.

"Ako pa ang bobo, pota. Ikaw nga itong baril nang baril. Kakampi mo kaya ako!" Thomas hissed.

They were so busy to the point that I couldn't go back to my seat.

"Ano ba 'yan, weak n'yo naman dalawa! Mawalang galang na baka gusto mong paupuin ako sa pwesto ko." I sarcastically said while glaring to Thomas.

"Wait lang, last game na ito." he casually uttered without even bothering to look at me.

Hinayaan ko na lang sila dun. Gamer daw sila pero sa pangta-trashtalk lang naman magaling.

I sat beside Jewel who is currently reading again. Kare-review n'ya lang kanina, tapos nag-aaral na naman siya ulit ngayon.

Wow, is she planning to nail the recit?

Pero sa bagay mukhang hindi rin siya nakapagbasa ng maigi kanina dahil pinag-usapan namin 'yung problema ko. I felt guilty so I just stay there quietly while browsing my phone.

Scrolling social media accounts most of the time is actually pretty boring. Wala rin naman kasing nagte-text sakin kung kamusta na ako, kung nag-lunch na ba ako, or kung anong ginagawa ko. I took a deep sighed with that sudden realization.

Nauubos lang siguro ang oras ko sa kahahanap ng memes.

"Donya, mawalang galang na baka gusto
mong paupuin ako sa pwesto ko." Thomas mocked me. I glared at him and punched his arm.

"Aray ko naman, hindi ka na naawa sa muscles ko." he said while trying to flex his muscular arms.

I rolled my eyes and sat on my chair.

Natahimik na lang kami nung pumasok na si Attorney. He's holding nothing aside from index cards.

Nakikita ko pa lang 'yun, nanghihina na ako. Hindi naman masyadong related sa law ang tina-take kong course pero isa ito sa major subject namin. Ito pa nga lang hirap na hirap na kami, what more if you' re planning to go to law school.

He started calling out names and they answered all his questions precisely.
I keep on looking at my wristwatch to check the time. Fudge, 20 minutes left before dismissal. Halos banggitin ko na lahat ng santong kilala ko para lang hindi ako matawag.

"Miss Cojuangco."

Shit. I'm doomed!

I parted my lips when he called my name. I stand up, hiding the nervousness I feel.
Well, I'm just fuckin' lucky! Ako pa talaga ang huling natawag.

"Discuss the Davis-Bason Act."

I recall all the topics that I've read. Good thing, I have prior knowledge about the topic so I can able to explain it correctly. Though I'm not sure if he's satisfied with my answer. He's about to ask a follow-up question when the bell ring.

Wew, I'm safe!

"Prepare for a long quiz next meeting. Class adjourn!"

Saka lang kami nag-react lahat nung nakalabas na siya ng classroom. Grabe nonstop readings, recit, tapos may pa-long quiz pa.

"Saan n'yo gusto kumain? Except canteen. Inuunahan ko na kayo." Louise hissed.

I was about to say sa canteen, but since she knows me well, inunahan n'ya na agad ako. May mall naman dito sa loob ng campus kaya doon na lang kami hahanap ng makakainan. 'Yun nga lang laging madaming tao at punuan.
