"Sorry, akala ko 'yun ang pangalan mo." He shyly answered while scratching his head a little.

"It's my nickname. Okay lang kahit anong itawag mo sa'kin." I smiled a bit.

"Btw, I don't know if you're a fan of coffee but I bought you espresso and cake. Sorry, hindi ko kasi natanong kay Thomas kung ano 'yung gusto mo." I pointed at a Starbucks paper bag.

"Grabe siya, nag-abala ka pa. Nakakahiya naman pero thank you dito." He smiled and gestured me to take a seat.

"Ito pala 'yung questionnaire. You can check first before we proceed to the interview." I handed him the paper with the list of questions.

He read it first before giving me again the paper.

"Kailangan ba English din ang sagot? Medyo olats ako dun." He emitted a short laugh.

"Okay lang kahit hindi. Kung saan ka mas komportable." I just shrugged.

We talked about his love for basketball, how he started his career as an athlete, and the challenges of being the captain ball.

"How can you balance basketball and your acads? I mean, you're the team captain tapos accountancy pa ang course mo." I curiously asked.

"Siguro sipag lang talaga at pananampalataya," he chuckled, "Actually, hindi ko rin alam. Pero siguro ito kasi talaga ang path na gusto ko. Sinasabihan na nga ako ng iba na mag accounting tech ako o kaya lumipat ng ibang course pero kinakaya ko pa naman. Conflict nga lang talaga kapag tournament season na tapos nagsabay sa exams."

"Ang galing! Tapos DL ka pa." I sounded so amazed.

I really admired those people who can manage to do a lot of things aside from being a student. Well, like Elijah, he can balance his studies and being the team captain at the same time. He excels in everything, and I want to commend him for that.

He jokingly said.

"E, hindi naman naga-aral 'yun. Tulog, laro lang ang alam nun minsan." Pabiro kong sabi.

"Pansin ko nga." He laughed.

After we finished the interview, nag-offer pa siya na ihatid ako sa building. I declined his offer, but he keeps on insisting. Nakakahiya dahil medyo malayo pa ang building namin.

We are walking on the field when I divert my attention to Lucas sitting on the bench with his friends.

"Lucas!" I shouted to called his attention.

He left his friends and walked towards my direction.

"Hey. I was about to text you." He casually said.

"Ha, bakit?"

"Itatanong ko sana if you're with Louise." He shortly looked at Elijah.

"Maybe she's with Thomas and Scott. May inasikaso kasi ako kanina, e. Bakit?"

"I'll just give this to her." He raised the paper bag that he carries.

"I'm about to go to our next class. I can hand it to her." I offered.

"No, it's okay. May sasabihin din ako sa kanya. "

"Sabay ka na. Papunta na rin ako dun."

Natigil lang kami sa pagu-usap when I heard Elijah cleared his throat.

He laughed a little.

"Sure! I'll give you a copy." I smiled.
