Chapter 2: Time For Rules

Shinigami had basically explained all the current rules for this new life.

1. You may kill anyone or anything here-- except for the chairman.

1a. You may kill Shinigami in a death match, but if you lose... you die.

1b. But if you win, you can escape with a choice of 4 people.

2. You will return do your dorms in 12 AM. You should not be in other people's dorms and other places, unless with my permission.

2a. Permission will mean plans for murder, a surprise, and etc.

2b. If you are found that I didn't give you permission... you will be automatically be executed.

3. A Love Hotel will be opened for one pair each day (Thanks to Koro Sensei), you will do anything in the Love Hotel, with no cameras, no one is to come and open the room.

3a. The pair will be chosen as one person is chosen randomly. They are to choose one person. Gender, ethics, sexuality, looks, and personalities don't matter, you can choose any of the students.

4. When a murder occurs, a body discovery will be announced as 3 innocent witnesses see the corpse. After the discovery, an investigation will occur. The investigation will last 2 hours.

5. After the investigation, a Class Trial will occur. The Class Trial is to find the culprit, or the "blackened". Votes will occur in the end of the trial. If majority of the votes point to the "blackened", they will be executed.

5a. Not voting will automatically make you executed.

5b. If the majority of the votes don't point to the "blackened" but to the "whitened" (the innocents), all the innocents will be executed.

5c. After the Class Trial, there are to be no murders.

6. During times that aren't investigations or something else, you have a free-time phase, where you can either do anything or kill someone.

"Gosh, this is dangerous..." Okajima-kun sighed.

"Yeah, I don't have a feeling that this is going to be great..." Muramatsu-san aagreed.

"Wait a minute!" Sugaya-kun pointed out, "we can escape this place then!"

"With trying to dodge the electrical fences that are controlled by a program?" Itona questioned stoic, "even my hacking skills can't shut them down for even a millisecond."

Itona's hacking skills were great... that meant the programming of the fences were heavily secured.

"If only if we had Ritsu..." Okano-san sighed.

"Ritsu?" I asked.

"She's our friend who's an AI." Kanzaki-san explained.

"We don't have any electronics in the first place," I told everyone, "but we can possibly have another escape route!" I made a fist with hope.

"So we're determined in a place where we're going to kill people?" Hayami-san questioned, "I think that's a good thing"

"Unless f someone here gets motivated." Isogai-kun told us the reality, "we can meet later, let's spend the free time and suggest ways to escape."

We all left, as Itona followed me like a dog.

"You don't have to force yourself to follow me." I told him.

"That's my choice." Itona told me.

"Well..." I thought for a moment, "fine."

We both went to a gigantic lake.

"I never saw this lake in the past..." Itona told me.

"Don't ask me, I don't even remember the whole school year." I told him.

"Really?" he asked me, "it seems like some of us had an amnesia, they don't remember the school year we had."

"That's understandable..." I answered.

Amnesia? That was what made me from thinking my memories of the past?

I stared at into the clear, deep shallow lake. I some fishes were in there.

"Trout!" I saw Sugino-kun pointing out, "if only if I had a fishing pole and a bait..."

We both laughed, as we saw Sugino-kun leave disappointed.

I looked at Itona's eyes, his hollow eyes.

They looked... pretty beautiful?

"(Y/N)-chan?" he asked me as the wind blew his hair.

The wind blowing in his hair made him show more charisma for some reason. Was it me... or something else?

"Uh, Itona..." I awkwardly stared at him. The atmosphere was awkward. Since no one was here, I couldn't even start a single conversation!

"So, uh, (Y/N)-chan..." Itona awkwardly asked me in order to start the chat.

"Yeah?" I asked him.

"Would you..." he questioned me. Something was holding him back from saying something...

"...do you trust me...?" he questioned me with courage, "do you trust me that I will defiantly kill you?"

That was unexpected for him to question. Cold water splatted my face, and my focus was automatically back to normal.

"I-I..." I stuttered as I felt something in my mind stopping me.

You remember what Shinigami said. Someone has to die...

You know the fate of yours and his...

Someone is going to kill each of you...

...or that you will be killing one another.

Itona's face tensed as I took a grip on the grass.

"I do." I boldy answered as I felt my muscle still tense.

Why am I still tensed when I answered? Was my body a bit... weird?

Itona smiled, which I couldn't get a memory out where he smiled.

"Thanks." he complimented me as I saw something drop on his cheeks, "thank you, (Y/N)-chan."

He hugged me tight, as I blushed. I felt Itona was... quite warm than I expected.

But who can't smile from hugs? I just smiled back, which I wasn't sure.

But who knew that motives could be strong enough... to kill?
