Chapter 10

The next day, they were all huddled at JFK, Michela and Gen looked like they partied way to hard and looked extremely hung over, Monica was stumbling in and out of the toilet- morning sickness, Mateo sat in a corner brooding, Clay was comforting Monica, whilst Sasha plugged in her ipod and tuned the world out, she was nursing a massive headache. Once boarded, everyone was separated as they bought their tickets separately, however Sasha and Mateo's seats were only separated by one stranger, with Sasha taking the window seat and Mateo sitting in the aisle seat.

Sasha stared out the window watching the clouds rolled by, she couldn't help but drift to the events that happened last night.

Flashback.

"What the" someone said by the door, snapping Sasha and Adonis out of their trance.

"Get off her" Clay barked, fury in his eyes. "What are you doing here Clay?" Sasha asked as she tried covering herself, Adonis was sobering up, his thoughts were clearer, so he removed his shirt to cover Sasha, she gladly accepted it and nodded her head in acceptance.

"Get away from her!" Clay locked eyes with Adonis and charged over in an attempt to pull Adonis away from Sasha. Adonis got up and started fuming, "what's your problem dude?", getting all up in Clay's face. Sasha quickly got up and stepped in between both of them, before someone throws a punch, her back was against Adonis chest and she was facing Clay, "What are you doing here Clay?"

"I came to return your phone and to talk to you", he held up her phone and passed it to her, "Mateo took it by accident, thinking it was his".

"Okay then, maybe i have his phone, I'll go look, but go outside and wait Clay"

"His phone was in his pocket all along," Clay told Sasha, but his eyes were focussed on Adonis, and both of them were having a staredown. Sasha put her palms on Clay and pushed him slightly, gesturing for him to go out but he wouldn't budge, so she turned to Adonis, and said "Hey do you mind leaving? I need to talk to my best friend"

Adonis softened, "Yes sure Agapi" he paused, "but can we talk outside for a moment?" she nodded and followed him out, leaving Clay in the living room.

"I'm sorry Agapi, I don't know what came over me" his eyes pleaded with her, "I really like you Sasha, I have for awhile now and tonight I drank a little too much, and I couldn't get you out of my head. I wanted to come over and tell you how I felt, but before I could, something just came over me and I kissed you. I know I shouldn't, I'm sorry agapi", he touched her cheek.

"It's okay Ade, I kissed you back too so it was partially my fault. But I'm not sure if ready to date, I just broke up with Raphael a few days ago"

"How about a date?" Adonis asked wishfully, "Yes Adonis, I would love to go on a date with you, but tomorrow I'll be flying to Miami for awhile, and we will see when I get back?"

"Okay agapi, have a safe trip. My shirt looks good on you. Goodnight agapi" and he kissed the top of her forehead and left. Sasha closed the door, suddenly remembering she has to deal with Clay.

"What are you still doing here Clay?"

"Do you like him?" he asked quietly, not daring to look at her. "Does it matter? He's nice to me, he's been there for me, and maybe I do?"

"Just don't date for awhile Sash, please, just do it for me?", she was stunned by the request, and she did not understand it at all.

"I.. I.. I don't know? I just can't see you with other people, I don't know why, I know I'm being selfish" he sighed. "I don't know what you want Clay, you always stayed firm on the fact we are friends and nothing more, then you come and make these types of claims as if you are jealous, when you shouldn't be and you have Monica and a baby on the way"

"I really miss you Sash, you mean alot to me Sash, I'm conflicted" he sighed, she sat next to Clay, not sure what to say, she grabbed his hand and rubbed it, "don't be nervous Clay, you have a baby on the way, Monica loves you, things are going right for you. You'll be a great dad, and as your best friend and hopefully godmother of your little one, I will always be there for you and your little one."

Clay draped his arms over Sasha's shoulder and pulled her closer, inhaling her scent. He missed the way she smells, he missed her more than he should. He knew he couldn't tell her the truth.

End flashback.

When they landed, Michela, Gen, Clay and Monica split a cab, while Mateo and Sasha shared another. "Mateo, are you okay?" Sasha asked, breaking the silence.

"Yes" he avoided looking at Sasha, she felt uneasy so she asked, "did I do something wrong?"

"No".

It was obvious he wasn't up to talking to her, so she dropped it and they rode in silence. It was hot, she was looking forward to this weather, she missed the beach sun, she was excited to see mami and hit the beaches. Sasha decided to check her phone, since she switched it off during the flight.

Deciding only to check Adonis messages, and hitting delete on all of Raphael's messages.

Adonis : Have a good trip agapi. I'll miss you.

Adonis : Looking forward to our date. :) Can't get your lips off my mind. It's burned in my memory. ;) xx

Adonis : Okay, ignore that, I probably sound like a creep. Hope I didn't scare you away. :(

Sasha chuckled at how cute Adonis was, she bit her lower lip as she remembered the heated moment they shared, she really enjoyed the kiss too, suddenly feeling butterflies in her stomach.

Sasha : I've landed Ade. And no you aren't creepy? Okay maybe slightly, but I've been thinking about it too. ;) xx

Sasha put away her phone smiling, as she was on the familiar street which she grew up on and she was reaching Mami's house. She's always excited to see mami, after abuela passed mami was always on her own, Mr Parker is always travelling for work and never really around. The cab pulled up, she could see mami and the rest of them, they arrived earlier than Sasha, Sasha quickly paid the cab driver before Mateo could and got out of the car.

"MAMI!" she dropped her stuff, knowing that Mateo was behind her and knowing that most likely Mateo would help her out, she ran towards mami and mami eyes lit up immediately.

"Mija" mami grinned, and with opened arms received Sasha and they just stood there hugging. "I missed you mami"

"Come let me see you. I haven't seen you in so long" she pulled away from Sasha, "you've gotten prettier, Mateo didn't do you any justice" she chuckled, and looked over Sasha to see Mateo, opening her arms wider to welcome Mateo in the hug as well, "Mateeeo" he got in the hug as well, mami was happy to see them. "Ahh finally my babies are back!"

"I'm here too ma" Clay joked, faking being hurt. "Yea.. yea.. yea.. I miss them more than you Clay" mami joked. "Come stop standing in my front yard, our new neighbor is really nosy, so let's go in. I've made paella, pasta, and ribs, let's get some meat on you girls"

They spent the entire day eating, catching up, laughing, telling jokes and enjoyed being as a family again. Mami was happy to have everyone under the same roof again, then mami pulled Clay out to speak to him on the patio.

"When are you planning on telling me Clay? I know Monica is pregnant"

"I.. how?" Clay asked stunned

"That girl has not drank 1 sip of alcohol, gagged at the smell of certain food and she would not stop touching her belly"

"I'm sorry ma, I just found out 3 weeks ago, I was planning on telling you, but I don't know how you would react"

"Do you love her?", mami questioned.

"I don't know, but she's carrying my baby so I will do the responsible thing"

"You never doubted your love for Sasha, but you were too cowardly to act on it" mami sighed.

"Mami, I'm sleeping with you tonight" Sasha came out saying.
