4 days later
"Wake up sweetie!" my dad announced loudly as he barged into my bedroom.
"uhmm I am up." I frowned while checking my email.
"Why so serious?" dad asked me then sat on my bed.
"Nothing." I replied. "C'mon tell me! I'm the coolest dad in the whole entire world!" dad said proudly with a grin.
I turned around facing dad. "Its my friend Johnny. He didn't reply any of my emails and text. I even called him but his line was busy." I explained. "Well.. maybe he's busy." dad stated.
"Maybe." I mumbled.
"So. I know today's your birthday and I am soo mad at my assistant for not clearing my schedule for today and making me go to Singapore this evening." dad started. "Its okay dad. I'm not really in the mood to celebrate anyways." I said.
"But I promise you that your birthday present will be epic!" dad said then lifted me up in he air. "Okay dad." I chuckled.
"Ouh I forgot!" dad said while making his way out.
"What?" I asked. "Abraham's off duty for the next 2 days for some cooking convention in Vegas , so I called Dori to stay here for the next few days." dad said. I just nodded in reply.
"Luke and Nick as well coz I want some men guarding my house." dad continued.
"What!." I yelled. "But we have guards in every entrance!" I continued. "Entrance not inside. Plus Luke's parents will be out of town as well and Layla will be staying at her friends house." dad said before leaving me stunned in my room.
"This is bad!" I thought. The last thing I want is to see Luke after what happened the other day.
After showering I came down to the kitchen for lunch.
"What izz up!" someone yelled from the patio near the pool.
"Who is it!" I yelled then grabbed a knife. "Its me Nick." he said then appered to my sight. "Ouh." I sighed then placed the knife back to where it belonged.
"What's with the knife?" Nick asked.
"I thought you were some burglar." I replied then continued making myself a salad.
"Burglar? That is why your dad called me here." he said then sat on the counter. "To protect you." he continued.
"Yeah right?" I smirked. "You hungry?" I asked. "Starving!" he yelled. "Salad?" I asked. "Nah I'm gonna order some thai food." he said grabbing his phone.
"Nicole!!!!!! yoohoooo!!! where are you?" a girl yelled.
"I'm here!' I yelled back. "Who is it?" Nick asked me.
"I think its Dori." I replied.
"I brought thai cuisine." Dori said placing the food on the counter. "You've read my mind." Nick said happily while hugging Dori. "Don't I always." Dori said sarcasticly.
We ate our lunch by the pool and Nick was telling a story about how he almost burned his kitchen while making a hamburger.
"And that is why I am never cooking ever again in my life!" he finished his story. "Who knew making hamburger was soo dangerous." I said with a grin. "Totally." Dori said while checking her phone then walked to the other side of the pool.
Hearing Nick's story just made me realise that he's living in his house alone. No parents , siblings or anyone. I couldn't help but to stare at Nick , wondering what's his story.
