"Ellie, you up yet?"

Ellie slowly but surely forced her tired eyes to open after the fifth knock, grumbling under her breath at the person interrupting her sleep. She could feel the emptiness of the bed next to her, you weren't there. Her hand mindlessly felt around for your presence until she concluded that you were, in fact, not next to her as you were hours ago.

She managed to pull herself upright into a sitting position after a minute, sluggish behavior getting the best of her. "Hey!" She called, sniffing at her hoodie and muttering about it being clean enough. "Y/N already leave?" As if to answer her own question a sheet of ripped paper sat on the desk tucked in the corner of the little home. She groggily called something back to Jesse about oversleeping, that it wasn't on purpose and she'd be ready in a minute.

She slipped another coat on before picking your note off the table. Your handwriting was easily distinguishable, she always knew it was from you.

Ellie chuckled at your words, tucking the letter into her journal before packing it away in her backpack. She taped the picture to the desk light for you to find later-she knew she'd be in for it if she threw it away-and turned towards her door.

"Hey, Joel up yet?" She questioned in assumption that Jesse had spoken to him on his way to get her. She did live in his backyard after all.

"Already left."

"Damn."

Jesse laughed from outside the door, revealing a very amused look when she finally pulled the door open. "Why is it that Y/N, the worst morning person in the world, can wake up before you?" He teased.

"Shut up, I was just about to get up."
