The boat brings no relief from the vicious rain pouring down over the city, in fact it only worsens it. The added movement from the boat only allows the rain to smack your face at a rapid pace from all angles, accompanied by a spray of salty, dirty water from the flooded water spilling into the city.

The little hood you've pulled over your head does nothing to lighten your mood. You're anxious, conflicted and worried all at the same time. Anxious because you're finally about to-at least, you think so-find the woman who killed Joel. Conflicted because now not only is Tommy out there alone, Jesse is as well.

The worry resides for Ellie, you can't help but wonder how this will end. When, and if, she finds Abby will it end there? Will that be enough?

The other half of the worrying thoughts plaguing your exhausted mind were questions about Abby. What if she hurt Ellie in the showdown you suspected would come? Ellie could take care of herself, you knew that. But this woman had presumably a lot more strength than your girlfriend, she had an entire community of friends that could be at this aquarium with her. Whereas all Ellie had was you-you could handle yourself but several people seemed like a task.

Another thought lingered in the depth of your mind as well, one that made your fingers graze over the hidden fleshy wound on your side: would he be there?

The toe of a sneaker gently nudges your knee. Ellie's voice brings you out of your thoughts and back to the present, rain and water still spraying you from where you sat on the floor of the boat. "You good, babe?"

You shrug, clearing your throat so you can speak at a level she could hear you over the boat engine, the rain and the water smacking the boat side. "Just thinking about how much I hate Seattle and this boat." You chuckle, settling your chin into your splayed palm to gaze up at the auburn haired girl.

If only you could read minds.

Seattle is definitely amongst the top five places that makes Ellie dwell on unwanted memories. It doesn't quite reach the little Lakeside resort from a Winter so long ago, or a hospital rotting away in Salt Lake City, but it definitely makes the list. She hopes this will be the first and only time she visits the wasteland of a city that once was. She hopes that this will be the conclusion of the trip, a tiny boat and a spray of water leading to an old aquarium. A woman who she begged to stop.

Ellie's eyes flicker from the twisting waterways and various turns through broken fences and rubbles buildings. She allows herself to spare a glance at the girl sitting on the floor of the boat, legs pulled to her chest to attempt to shield the spraying water and rain from herself. You.

She knows she shouldn't have dragged you along on this; you should've been back in Jackson where it was safe. Where you could rest and heal properly. A selfish part of her is glad you came, she's glad to have the company of the one girl she loves. She's certain of that much now-her love for you.
