Chapter 23

Kirishima's POV:

*six days later*

"its so boring without Blasty to yell at us. I think I'm going to lose my mind." Kaminari whines from his shared tank, Sero rolls his eyes.

"I can yell at you if you want?" Jirou offers, barely disguising her smile.

"Nooooooooo, I like the quiet. Nobody calling me an idiot just for existing-"

"You're an idiot." Jirou, Mina, and Todoroki deadpan,

"Why are you all so mean to me?" he whines, getting a laugh out of the rest of us.

"Ok but on a more serious note, why haven't you visited Bakugou yet Kiri? Aren't you two lovers or something?" Sero asks. I choke

"I- no- we're- that not- Its not like that Sero." I sputter, getting looks from everyone. "Yeah, ok whatever. But theres nothing going on." The looks don't stop. "Seriously?! Theres nothing going on. I don't know what else to say guys. I cant hide something that doesn't exist." Mina laughs

"Oh honey thats not what that look is for. Its because you haven't said anything to him yet." Mina explains, 

"Look, I'd rather not talk about this with all of you. No offense but now doesn't seem like the right time with him in a coma." I point out. "And to answer your question Sero, I-. I don't know how to explain it, but I can't bring myself to walk in that room." I explain

"Could it be that you don't want to see him differently? That you would rather wait and see him alive than have to see him looking lifeless?" Momo tries, I nod 

"Yeah, s' stupid but I can't help it." I sigh

"Yeah, thats got to be rough dude." Kami says sympathetically.

"It was rough to see Kacchan like that, but on the bright side he was asleep and didn't yell at me." Midoryia's comment makes the group laugh collectively,

"You know, he'd probably beat the shit out of us if he heard this conversation." Toga points out, we nod in unison

"Hes a big kid, he can deal wi-_____" she trails off, her head bobbing down and dozing off, leaning her head on Momo's shoulder. Momo looks down at her fondly.

"Did she just-"

"Fall asleep in the middle of her scentence?"

"Oh my god thats adorable."

"At least she's got a comfy pillow eh Momo?" Said girl flushes and looks away. The rest of us snicker, quietly to avoid waking the sleeping girl.

"But It is late, it might be best to try and sleep." Sero points out, the rest of us agree

One by one everyone begins to doze off. 

I look around and realize I'm the last one awake. I take in all the sleeping faces of my friends, and smile. 

Only then to I drift off into sleep
