Chapter 4

This chapter is in honor of my doggos birthday, today we've officially had her for a decade! That's her up top^^
And now the chapter~

Kaminari's POV:

"So what exactly happened to you after going over the falls?" Sero asks,

"Well I fell first of. Duh" he snickers. "The landing knocked me unconscious, so I don't remember that bit. Next thing I know I wake up to an angry blonde yelling in my face. He's not bad when you get to know him, think tsundere with anger management." This brings out another laugh out of Sero, I smile "Anyway he wakes me up and starts griping about taking care of me. He didn't mind. After my recovery we followed the river for a week or so to a small lagoon. Jirou lived there. After about 5/6 months we end up here, and we have our dramatic reunion!" He rolls his eyes and shoves my shoulders lightly. God I missed this, I missed him.

"Did you have to say that last part?" He asks

"Yessir" I respond, flashing him a grin, but it soon falls. "What happened to you when I... disappeared.?" Sero chokes for a moment, then composes himself

"Well... I thought my best friend just died. I was grieving. I wasn't paying much attention to my surroundings. Eventually I end up at this wacky ride pool thing, where I meet another mer. Sato. He's probably your buddy's new roommate. He's kind enough, was patient enough to deal with me and not ask me about what happened. Managed to lift my spirits a little bit actually. Months pass uneventfully until we see a harpy fly over. Tokoyami, he's a quiet dude, probably wouldn't like you, your too  loud-" he did not just say that to my face

"RUDE! I think we could get along great, thank you." I interject, offended

"As I was saying, he told us he knew of a safe place for people like us, so we agreed. Couple more months pass and then you show up. Man it was hard without you-" his eyes drop, right. He thought I died.

"Did I really mean that much to you?" I ask softly, he looks back up at me, nods once, before his eyes water and he looks back down. He had to deal with this the whole time, I knew he was alive so it wasn't as hard on me. Sure I was separated from the only person I knew, but I was sure he wasn't dead. God Sero I'm so sorry

"It was... so hard to think that the only person by my side... was gone. No warnings at all. I didn't know if you died... in the fall... or you were captured... and displayed in some tank... or stuffed on a wall... it hurt... not knowing... was probably the worst thing about it." He pauses, attempting to control the tears that formed rivers on his cheeks. Leaning in to look him in the eyes, I smile.

"But I'm ok, and I'm here now." I reach out to simultaneously wipe his face dry of tears and pull him into a hug. "I've got my best friend back, and I'm not going anywhere ever again" He returns the hug, nuzzling his nose into the joint of my neck and shoulder. I do the same, and inhale the familiar and calming scent of my best friend. Cherry. Somehow he always smelled like cherries.

"Promise?" He whispered

"Promise." I respond, Sero sighs

"I'm really glad your back Denki"

Sorry it's short but I wanted to give them a proper reunion. As for the cherries, I thought it fit him. I've got headcannons  for what everyone smells like, (idk it's weird I'm weird)
