Sophie's POV:

Sophie woke up to whispering voices outside her door.

"Come on, just wake her up..." One voice said, clearly in a rush for something.

"NO! Do you know how long it took for me to actually get her to sleep?" Another voice jumped in, trying harder than the last person to keep their voice down.

"Aww, just look at her, she's so adorable, just let her sleep a little longer." This last voice came from someone she did not want to be in her house right now, much less staring at her while she was sleeping.

She pried open one eye, and gave her visitors a death glare. She quickly realized that there wasn't much of an audience, just her mom and dad, and.... oh no, she was right. Keefe. She hadn't really talked to him much since he had gotten out of the healing center, because she was trying to sort out some emotions that she didn't want him to feel. Not because she had anything to hide, she thought quickly, mostly trying to convince herself.

"Earth to Foster..." Keefe's voice jerked her out of her thoughts.

"Um, hey Keefe, what are you doing here?" she asked sweetly, silently promising to kill him later for sneaking into her room. But then again, Grady was there, and if Grady had allowed it, she guessed it was important.

"Well, I've come to take you to our meeting." Keefe looked at her, tilting his head so their eyes met.

"Oh, I forgot about that..." Sophie genuinely had forgotten, despite her photographic memory. They had to go for a Team Valiant meeting, and Keefe was allowed to come too this time. Of course, he wanted to go with Sophie, to have some more 'Foster-Keefe time' as he put it.

"Well, are you getting out or what? I can't change while you guys are in here." Sophie shooed them out.

She started to close the door on them, but not before Keefe was able to sneak a wink at her. Ugh, she thought, as she blushed. Why can't I just get a handle on my emotions for once? Sophie was getting tired of blushing every time Keefe did something remotely focused on her. She had isolated herself for the last couple days, just because she hadn't been able to stop her face from flaming up every time he so much as looked her way.

Groaning, she went to her closet and picked out a simple outfit. Tying her hair in a ponytail, she decided to put on some gold eyeliner. After a while of fussing over her hair and light makeup, she heard someone knock on the door.

"You in there Foster? Have you gotten yourself into trouble, or are you just taking extra time to try to impress the mighty Keefester!!" She could practically hear him smirking at her.

"No to both, Keefe, and I'm coming out in a minute." She said, thanking the fact that he couldn't see the red creeping up her neck and onto her cheeks. She thought about it after he had gone back downstairs. Was she trying to impress him? No, she decided, she was just dressing nicely because.... she didn't really know why, but that wasn't it.

When she finally came downstairs without tripping once, she saw Keefe look at her with his mouth half open.

"Do I look that bad?" She asked, embarrassed that she had dressed up more than usual.

"No Sophie, you look.....perfect." The raw look in his eyes made Sophie feel really fluttery, but this time, she didn't blush, because she didn't need to be embarrassed by Keefe's comment. She knew that he meant it. He wasn't joking this time.

"Aww, look at you lovebirds!!! You two are just adorable, I'll be expecting a wedding any day now." Ro squealed, which Sophie decided was not a good look (or sound) on an ogre.

"Yeah, Foster just needs to face her feelings, and then we'll be set to go. What do you say Foster, next Saturday good for you?" Keefe joked, but she could see some sincere emotions behind his mask.

"You know I'll never marry you Keefe. We're just really good friends." Sophie persisted, looking him in the eyes, before glaring at Ro.

"Ooh, Blondie's getting feisty!" Ro said, possibly distracting Sophie from Keefe's hurt expression. It was only for a moment, but she did notice his smirk disappear for a few seconds before reappearing.

"Come on Foster, we're gonna be late." Keefe took her arm, and they disappeared into a beam of light.
