I stepped into Josh's house, trying to shake off my thoughts of Xavier. "Josh?" I glanced around the house. Everything seemed different. The drapes, couches, and carpet had changed to a dark shade of red. Why did he decide to redecorate? How did he even get the money for it? "Josh?"

"Sky?" Josh whispered. He stood at the doorway of his bedroom, shirtless over a pair of dark jeans. His hair was ruffled like he had just woken up. "What are you doing here? You have to go."

"Why?" I tried to walk closer to him, but he hurried to me and pulled me back towards the front door. "Josh--"

He covered my words with his hand. "You have to go now." he whispered again.

I pulled his hand away, whispering, "Why do I have to go? What's wrong?"

"Shelby is here."

I gasped. "So you just want to be alone with her?" I asked accusingly. I don't know why I had said that when I know that they're married and its none of my business. Same as I am with Alex.

"No it's not that." he cornered me into the front door. "The Cutters are looking for you. They want you dead." I felt his bare skin brush my arms. "Just go, okay?"

"I came here to make up with you." I told him. I didn't want to leave when Shelby was here with him. It's not fair to know she can have him and I can't. "Why don't you just change their minds?"

He leaned forward. "You know its not that easy."

"We want to be together. It's as simple as it gets." I pulled him by his neck to my lips. He parted his lips and kissed me back. My whole body warmed up when he curled his arms around the small of my back. I pulled away to take a breath.

He stepped away from me towards his bedroom, shaking his head. "We shouldn't do this. Not here."

"Josh, just--" I paused when I saw Shelby walk out of the bedroom. When her eyes found mine, she grinned and put her lips on the back of Josh's neck. He tensed, but didn't remove his eyes from mine. Shelby pulled his chin for a kiss and right then I thought I was going to gag. I covered a hand over my mouth and ran out of the house in fury. Josh was no longer mine.
