"Our dead are never dead to us, until we have forgotten them. ..."

Someone dropped down. Dead and cold. The girl who stood beside the dead student screamed when she opened her eyes to see her dead friend. The scream broke the humming and halted the ritual. Chaos broke down as students moved away from the dead body.

Supernatural beings are more powerful than normal mortals but that does not exclude us from eminent death. However, death of a student in such a highly protective place like this is so rare that it scared the everyone about their own safety.

And the mysterious nature of the death was more worrisome. One moment everything was normal and the next a life was lost. The teachers reached the lying student and surrounded the body to inspect it further.

The girl was werewolf. A death in the pack was a huge deal for them. All the wolves surrounded the teachers at a distance, a sad silence befallen on them.

Curious students tried to peek at the dead body while a few scared ones were crying in the arms of their friends.

'Students, no need to panic. We will see to this matter. Please return to the dorm rooms.' Principal Robert assured us.

The incharges guided us back to the dorms in a file.

I was shook. I did not know the girl but still a sadness crept into my heart. Felicity was silent too. She both sat on my bed, cuddling in silence. Soon, exhausted from all the events, I slipped into a deep sleep.

Felicity woke me up at late afternoon. She did not want us to skip lunch.
'Have you heard anything about that girl?' I asked.

'Nurse Ava was checking on her. She died of heart attack.' She answered.

'Heart attack? Is it common for werewolves to have heart attack?'

'I don't know Myra. I don't know anything more.' She answered a bit irritated. Her mood was still off from the mornings events.

'Lets go and eat something.' I finally said.

.........

The kitchen was filled with low voices talking to eachother about today's events. The delicious aroma of the food prepared for the feast drifted in the air. But no one showed any particular appetite.

Felicity and I were nibbling on some bread and chicken peices.

From the corner of my eyes, I saw Taira, Leah and Nathan huddled up in a corner. Taira was sobbing so loudly that the whole room glanced towards her.

From the surrounding murmurs I got to know that another death took place. Apparently Taira's cat Rox died of heart attack.

Witches hold their cats dear. And Rox was a beautiful feline. I stood up and approached them.

'Please don't cry Taira. Was there something wrong with your cat? Was he old?' I asked.

In a sobbing tone she replied,' No...he was just 1 years old. And untill this morning he was completely fine. I even took him to Nurse Ava for health checkup last week.'

'Oh...' I did not know how to calm Taira down as she continued to cry her balls out. But what I understood was that, something really sinister was going behind this walls.
