The Lifesaver or The Heartbreaker?

Chapter 10

I haven't been so nervous for a long time. Seriously, there is something wrong with me. It is just a normal date, right? Well, if it is, why then your heart is beating so quickly? Urggg, I just have to shake it off and pull myself together. This day has to be perfect and I have to make sure that Alexis will remember it. Alexis... This girl is really something. Firstly, she makes my blood boil, but then my day seems brighter whenever I see her.

I decided to take her to the amusement park. After spending some time there, we will head to the skating rink, which is located very close to the amusement park. It is really huge and it seems like some romantic place. I really hope that she likes it because this is the first time I am planning my date to the point that my brain nearly explodes.

I looked at the watch and it was 4:40 pm. I'd better get going or I am going to be late and that is not a good way to start a date. I looked at my reflexion one last time, checking my hair for what seems like the hundredth time. I was wearing dark-blue jeans with a shirt and a blue sweater. I was casual, but warm at the same time. After checking if everything was okay, I headed downstairs, where my mother was watching TV. She turned her head once I was downstairs and her eyes widened in a matter of seconds.

“Is there something wrong? I look bad, right? I knew this was stupid...” I didn't have a chance to continue because she interrupted me.

“No, honey, you look very good, it's just...” She trailed off looking at me from head to toes. “Hmm, strange to see you dressing so smartly when you go out. Wait a second...” Her eyes light up when a realization hits her, a bright smile playing on her lips. “Are you going on a date?”

“Well, yeah, isn't that a normal thing?” I said while scratching the back of my neck nervously, a small blush on my cheeks. Seriously, Luke, how old are you? 11?

“Not for you. This is the first time I see you dressing up like this for a girl. Who is she? Do I know her? When are you going to bring her so I can meet her?” I knew this was coming.

“Wow, mum, slow down. It's only a date and you act as if I am going to marry her. By the way, I have to go or I am going to be late. Love you!” I shouted and after grabbing my jacket quickly closed the door behind me before she could say anything else.

After taking a deep breath, I knocked on the door. After a few minutes, Alexis opened the door and my heart skipped a beat. I told her to dress comfortable and casual and she did. Just wearing simple slim jeans and a green sweater, which highlighted her eyes, she looked gorgeous. Ladies and gentlemen, I, Luke Wilson, am lost for words. However, I recovered quickly.

“Wow, you look...hmm...beautiful.” I said and smiled after seeing her blush. She is so cute.

“Thanks, you don't look so bad yourself.” She smiled and so did I. She closed the door behind her and we headed to my car. “Anyway, where are we going?” she asked her eyes full of curiosity and excitement. She looked so like a little kid that I wanted to laugh, but I just smiled at her.

“Pfff, as if I am going to tell you, it is a surprise.” I said, while starting the car. When I looked at her, she was pouting and I could not help, but laugh and to my surprise she joined in with me. The rest of the ride we talked about random things and laughed a lot. She is so easy to talk to.

When we reached our destination, Alexis's eyes widened in realization where we are. After I parked my car and looked at her. She slowly turned her head to me.

“No.Freaking.Way. How did you know?” She asked, returning her eyes to the park, but from the tone of her voice I could hear how excited she was.

“I didn't. I mean, who doesn't like amusement parks?” I said to her sincerely, while smiling. Why can't I stop smiling today?

The time passed. I didn't even notice how quickly it passed because I had so much fun. We were laughing and eating cotton candy and we talked so much. Alexis is a good talker, she told me so many stories. So, as I said, we were having a good time. It was time we go to the last attraction before heading to the skating rink - Ferris wheel.

“I hope you are not terrified of heights because we are going to ride it anyways.” I said to her while laughing. She just shook her head chuckling.

Once we were inside, there were a comfortable silence, each of us enjoying the moment. The Wheel started to move and I mentally prepared myself for what I was about to do. When we were at the highest point, the wheel stopped and I heard Alexis gasp at the sight that was in front of us.

“I have been so many times in the amusement parks, how come I have never ridden this? This is so most beautiful thing I have ever seen.” She whispered, her eyes focused on the view.

“I can argue with that.” As I said that, her head turned to me, disbelief noticeable in her eyes. “I think you are much more beautiful than this view. Or any other thing, no matter how pretty you think they are.” I said to her while looking in her green eyes. “And I am saying this not because I want to win your heart, which doesn't seem like a bad idea, but because it's the truth.” A tear fell from her eye and I quickly wiped it away with my thumb. I placed my hand on her cheek, rubbing her soft skin with my thumb. “Listen, I have never done something like this before, so don't expect me to write a poem for you. I know that our fist meeting wasn't nice at all, we hated each other and couldn't stand being in the same room. However, look like it all turned out. I have no idea how you did it, but you took my heart away. I don't care how cheesy it sounds, but you made me want to care about you, to plan this stupid date for hours.” She smiled at me and I could see happiness in her eyes and sighed in relief. “When you smile like that I can think of nothing else, but you. I don't care if the world is on fire while you are smiling like that. I know that our relationship is really weir, but I want to try so badly anyway. So, Alexis Callies, would you do me such an honor and be my girlfriend?”

I was praying in my head and asking just one thing – her to say yes. However, she didn't took long in response. Without saying anything she just leaned in and kissed me gently on the lips. My mouth immediately responded to her, deepening the kiss. When we were out of breath, she pulled away and her forehead rested on mine.

“Well, Luke Wilson, today is your lucky day because I would love to be your girlfriend.” She gave me a small peck on the lips and looked me in the eyes. “Thank you so much, Luke. The date was perfect and those words...No one has ever told me this things and I am literally cried. Even if you are an idiot, now you are my idiot, right?” She said to me while smiling from ear to ear. Before I could reply, she crushed her lips on mine. Today was one of the best days of my life.

Sorry I haven't updated for so long. You know, it's Christmas and New Year and all that stuff. Also, my parents came home and I am spending a lot of time with them. Anyways, here you have unedited chapter, I hope you like it.
