When I felt that the space beside my bed was empty, I immediately sat up and looked for Dahyun. But then, the bathroom door clicked, revealing her fully dressed and ready for the morning flight. Relief then filled my heart. With a smile on her lips, she threw the pillow on my feet towards me which I successfully caught.

"Good morning, handsome," she smirked, "Please start moving because as much as I want to stay more with you, I don't have to extra money to afford an extra ticket so you better get going before we miss our flight."

With that statement, I simply nodded and stood up but as I passed by Dahyun, I gave her a tight back-hug before running to the bathroom. There was just this urge to check if I was with her in flesh and the best thing I could think of was giving her a 'good morning' type of embrace.

Relief after seeing the girl whom I've slept with was a foreign feeling because usually, I dispose women after one night. But unlike sleeping with other girls, there was nothing that happened between Dahyun and me. After the kiss which seemed to have lasted forever, we walked hand in hand with silly smiles on our faces and we both decided to share the same bed but with clothes on. Oddly, I wasn't disappointed. Nothing happened between the two of us but sleeping while sharing our warmth with our heart beat and breathing in sync still seemed so special.

On our way to the airport, we talked about every topic under the sun but perhaps, life has already given us too much of coincidences because we were not able to get seats in the plane that were beside each other.

"Sometimes when life doesn't give you a chance, you have to make that chance yourself," Dahyun wriggled her eyebrows then shoot her hands up when the stewardess asked if there were people willing to occupy the seats near the emergency exit.

I shook my head with laughter as I sat beside her while she sat beside the small window of the plane. There was something in flights that make me sleepy. Perhaps, it was the hatred for the pressure on the ear that being up in the sky produces. I honestly wanted to keep awake because she was writing again in that black notebook and I wanted to take a peek on what that journal contained. Dahyun seemed to have noticed how I seemed like head banging in the air because I was fighting the urge to sleep so she pushed my head towards her shoulder and said,

"Just sleep. It's okay."

As soon as she said those words, I found myself drifting onto dreamland and oddly, I remember dreaming about Dahyun.

We were already in the arrival area and as we wait for our luggage, I was clasping her hand tightly. I kept thinking of proper words to say before we part ways but I couldn't find an idea because I knew that deep in me, I still didn't want to say goodbye to Dahyun. She seemed to be at lost for words too and we were just standing in the baggage claim area in silence.

While others rushed to get their bags in the baggage carousel, the two of just stayed still. I saw our bags passed by us for five times, but neither of us bulged to get them. The people in the area then started slowly disappearing until the area was nearly empty with only our bags in the baggage carousel. We could have stayed like that much longer but then a staff started carrying our bags. I closed my eyes as Dahyun escaped from my grasp.

"Excuse me sir but that's ours!" she called as she ran towards the man.

I watched as the two of them struggled to load the bags in the baggage trolley. When they were finally successful in doing so, she then started pushing the trolley towards my direction. I got my bags while she got hers and without words, we agreed to go.

The words only escaped when we were already out of the airport.

"Will we see each other again?" she asked.

I shrugged with a sad smile.

"It would be nice if you could go back to Korea," she gave out a weak chuckle, "With that, we have higher chances of meeting each other... and your family would be happy seeing you too."

I didn't know what to reply so I just shrugged yet again.

"So... I guess we've come to this, huh," she smiled but I noticed how it didn't reach her eyes, "I'm not really good at saying goodbyes."

"Me too," I replied shortly.

"Then... let's just do this," her voice seemed louder, but I think I heard a crack. She beamed as she suggested, "On the count of three, we turn our backs on each other. With another count of three, we walk away. We're not allowed to look back, okay?"

"Okay," I nodded trying to shift away my attention from the lump that was building in my throat.

"Okay," she repeated. She breathed before saying, "No cheating. One... two... three."

With that, we turned our backs and she started counting again. When she said one, I heard the firmness in her voice. When she counted two, I could already imagine her crying with the sound of her voice breaking. Painfully, she said three and each step I took away from her was a challenge.

When the sounds of her footsteps were starting to disappear, dissolving with the sounds of the city, panic registered in me. My attraction on her was probably too strong because I was being pulled towards her once more. Breaking the rules, I looked back and when I couldn't see her, my feet started running towards the path she took. At that moment, there were numerous thoughts running in my head.

Maybe I could ask her to stay.

I could ask her for three days. And after that, I could ask her again.

I'd keep asking her and we'd stay together as long as she keeps saying yes.

If I ask her... maybe she would stay.

But the ifs and the maybes remained the way they are because no matter how hard I searched for her that day, I wasn't able to find her.
