Walking out of her quarters for what appeared to be the last time, Meara looked back and thought over everything that happened in the last few days. She'd met a Q, found the love of her life, been kicked off the ship, created possibly the first counterfeit trajectory patterns, and had gotten away with it. Whatever was gonna happen next, she was sure she wasn't going to regret a thing. She was glowing. Smiling she walked over to Grey who was waiting for her patiently a few feet away with his stuff packed. Craning her neck backward, she reached up gently kissed him. He grinned inwardly and nibbled her lip, his tongue asking for entrance. Meara pulled away ever so slightly.
"We'd better get going." She said laughing at his disappointed face. Picking up all of the bags, Grey walked towards the turbolift before holding the door open.
"After you, M'lady," He said, mockingly bowing. Meara bit her tongue whilst looking at the turbolift. Oh, what the hell. She followed him inside.
"Why thank you m' lord."
She hated these turbolifts.
So Meara is now back where she was at the beginning of her story. Shakingly holding the handlebar once again. The only difference now is that standing beside her she has someone who loves and adores her. A man who would risk his life to protect her. We have gone full circle. And the thing with circles is that they must repeat...
The turbolift will malfunction once again. Lieutenant Callie Meara will wake up with an awful headache in a few minutes. But for now, the pair look at each other lovingly prepared to take on the world together. Tightly holding one another's hands the universe stops around them. Interdimensional lovers. Their destiny is written into the dust that surrounds us, the very fabric of the reality that weaves our lives. Love is the most dangerous substance known to intelligence. It has fuelled wars, genocide, and heartbreak. But love is also the better halves of us. The universe has begun to twist and rearrange itself between the star crossed lovers. So for now, this is where we'll leave them.
