THIRF PERSON'S POV.
With their new clue, the Sibuna gang stood around the table in the Frobisher Library as they discussed the board game piece.
"So it's a cross between Snakes and Ladders and Checkers," Patricia concluded.
"Checks and Chadders!" Alfie excitedly uttered the name he thought of and River amusedly shook her head at him. "Checkadders! No, Sneckers!"
"You know, I kinda like the sound of Sneckers," River voiced, earning a high-five from Alfie.
"Look, okay, the journey across the board represents the journey from this life to the afterlife," Fabian spoke up, bringing the attention back on the Senet board. At that moment, Nina had arrived, joining the group as she stood between Patricia and River.
"Hey, uh, how's it going?" Nina asked. "Okay, we need to—" Before Nina could continue, the door slammed shut again, and in entered Jasper. River wasn't surprised to see him, but what caused her eyes to widen a bit was the thing Jasper was holding — the replica of the Mask of Anubis, aka the one Jasper gave to Rufus to trick him. It looked like Rufus wasn't fooled for long though. "Hey, isn't that—?"
"The replica of the Mask of Anubis," River answered, her voice sounding quiet but everyone could hear her.
"Mysteriously returned," Jasper said. "No note or anything. But only slightly damaged. I've restored it to its original state."
"That means Rufus knows it was a fake," Nina realized.
"It would appear so."
"Good, so he's going to be very, very disappointed and sniffing around for the real Mask any time now," Amber voiced with a frown.
"Which is why it's good that we found Robert's Senet board," Fabian said, holding up the board and Nina let out an impressed chuckle.
"River and I are the ones who found it," Amber declared, sending a grin to River.
"Yep, you're welcome," River responded with a smile.
"No way!" Nina cheerfully responded.
"And look," Fabian carried on as he turned the Senet board around. Nina reached for it as she saw what was on the back of it.
"The rules?"
"Trust Frobisher to know the true ancient rules to the game."
